Yeah when he was laying about in the precinct trying to get some shut eye in shop doorways the youths used to piss on him. He was incapable of defending himself by this time.

That’s actually the correct answer - he founded DFS, which stands for ‘Dennis Flint Superstores’.

Didn't he used to spit in pints and take them off nervous punters? He sounded like a total prick.

Thank you. Says it all really, two peas in a pod.
Yea bronsons as nutty as squirrel poo and i dont mean that in a hard man/gangster way i mean he should be sectioned.
Pointless though really, isn't it? Sectioned so that they have to go in every day and pin him and inject him with medication because he refuses to take it and is always kicking off? It's not like he's treatable, he'd just end up falling asleep in his soup and even then he'd still be trying to hurt people. At least in his current position he can still do his press ups and his drawings and write his poo books. People think 'sectioning' people will somehow make the problem disappear, but really it's moving the problem on to somebody else and instead of screws getting bashed up it's nurses. Leave him where he is.
Yea fair point

hard man stories are all the same, if there good to you there sweet if they took a liberty there a scumbag, the truth is never black and white, i never liked my old man when i was young hated him, me older brother said he was liked in pubs, its only after he had to stop drinking health ,i see a different man and came to like him, same with me best mate his old man was a animal and was to have it on the cobbles with well known london street fighters ,he was a nasty piece but in pubs people creamed him i wont lie i was intimated by him , but i had seen him in action around me mates gaff frightening to his wife and kids

The whole thing of the local 'hardman' is dying off as the pub industry is dying off - but every town and city up and down the nation has a handful of these people with many more wankers wanting to be one -
who just end up being unpleasant bullies overrating themselves by miles and miles of their actual talents and abilities in this area.

As Coco says, the only way to a happy life is to be a decent and pleasant person - Sykes had a somewhat short, unproductive and unhappy life - is this the story for the vast majority of them?

Bored last Sunday I watched the odd thing on Amazon 'The resurrection of Brian Cockerall"

This was all the same thing, his story was him and Lee Duffy going around being taxman on drug dealers. He was off his head on drugs and roids. In it he says he could of been world strongest man or a champion boxer.

It's all could of and would ofs with these guys, boasting about past fights that happened, he talks about fighting Dave Garside in it

My mate's parents used to know Flinty. My mate showed them the section from the docu, he laughed racuously and said something like I could tell you some stories. I keep meaning to ask him but I only see them about once a year. Bit of a character by all accounts.

DFS used to be Northern Upholstery. When they wanted to expand outside Yorkshire, they wanted to have a more broad appeal so changed to DFS. Doncaster Furniture Stores is what it stands for. The guy that owns it is minted, he used to live near me in a huge house. He now has a different house elsewhere and the amount of land he has is ridiculous, it runs into the woods and it's all fenced off.

Surprisingly, nobody has a bad word to say about him. He’s meant to be a nice, genuine guy. In Northallerton jail in the 90’s, all the teeside lot hero worshiped him, but said what a great bloke he was. They didn’t speak about Duffy the same.

He wasn’t there in Northallerton, he was just a huge name because it was mainly a Teesside jail.

They had two scraps in the late 80s/early 90s

One win each apparently. Both men are originally from Hartlepool so they were going to clash at some point living in a small town .

Bri is originally Scottish but lived in Hartlepool. I think he’s in Stockton now. Boro, Hartlepool, Stockton, Redcar are all more or less the same.

Cockerills dad is from Hartlepool and Mickey is correct his mother is from Scotland. The family lived in Seaton Lane Hartlepool when Brian was young. His dad is still in the town.
