A decent matchup, but both will be likely protected from each other at this point. Such kind of crossroads aren't popular today. Up to the date I gotta favor Kelly though.

Slightly favor kelly at this point. If kelly beats Avanesyan in any way other than a compete robbery then id have to solidly favor kelly. But, give it a couple of years, and i think connor is improving faster, its just who has a higher ceiling.

This is one of those rare times where i think i would actually rather wait 2 years for a fight. think in about 2 years, this fight could be bigger and more even in my opinion. Right now if kelly wins as expected its an olympican beating up a 24 year old, fairly raw guy still clearly learning his trade. Bit like when AJ beat whyte, it was fun, but mabey would of been better 2 yeas down the track after whyte beat chisora.

Conor Benn looked like the real thing against Formella. Impressive hand speed, timing, and head movement. Loved that counter right uppercut. Good body work. A quality jab as well. Don’t see the clash with Kelly happening this year. A little too soon for that fight.

I haven’t seen Josh Kelly’s last two fights, but by all accounts, many thought he’d lost the Robinson fight.

I was unimpressed by Kelly when I watched his bout against Przemyslaw Runowski, because of his over-confidence, showboating and carelessness. He fought in spurts and often became greedy with his shots, throwing too many punches in his combos, which I felt made him vulnerable to counters.

That being said, Kelly has faced superior opposition in the pro ranks than Benn has.

And when Benn was making his debut in the amateur ranks, Kelly was winning a bronze medal in the youth world championships.

If Kelly stuck to the basics, by refraining from emulating Mayweather's style, and instead focussed on getting the job done, as well as concentrating for every second of each round, then I’d currently favour him to beat Connor Benn.

However, Kelly is apparently making the same mistakes over-and-over again (as per his bouts against Robinson and Campos), which suggests that he might have already reached his ceiling.

In stark contrast, Connor Benn appears to be improving. So even if I think he’d lose to Kelly today, within twelve months or so he might eventually overtake him and prove himself a better fighter than Josh is.

Kelly did lose to Robinson he looked like an overhyped fighter

Its a good matchup to separate a pretender from contender

I think Kelly would show him up skills wise. Benns lack of amateur experience would show. Kelly is only 26 himself and with a top trainer in Adam Booth I'm sure he'll be improving himself behind the scenes.

Conor Benn beats him. Both flawed but Benn take that one.
