Is it just me or does most people believe Eddie Hearn is the only promoter who should make offers?? Eddie had always said if its beneficial for his guy he'd allow them to fight on another network, he's actively encouraged other promoters to make an offer, granted he may be full of the brown stuff but we'll never know as nobody takes the bait, Benn cant wait around to see when Jenkins is available, he'd already been inactive for 13 months, Jenkins, Lockett and MTK all happy with the offer , Frank wasn't and yet Jenkins still no fight confirmed yet despite Warren having shows on since July

Why did they pull out of the purse bids if they wanted the fight so much? Don't understand why

Casuals believe he’s the only show in town. Which is sad, because Saturday truly is a great match.handsofstone wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020, 11:57 Is it just me or does most people believe Eddie Hearn is the only promoter who should make offers?? A purse bid doesn’t guarantee the fight and Frank was the one who publicly stated that he wanted to make that fight as well as many others but didn’t make an offer for it to happen whilst Matchroom did.mickey1975 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020, 10:02 Well have to agree to disagree! Neither were going to let the other promote! Bids were the only answer and Benn pulled out.
Agree to disagree though!

Shows what a good job he’s done promoting himself. Saturday’s a great fight and it’s great that’s it’s not on PPV but I’ve spoke to a few of my mates today who are casual boxing fans (although I’ve been to see Fury/Klitschko, Haye/Klitschko and even Barker/Sturm with them) and they don’t even know it’s happening! Quite sad really as you say.mickey1975 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020, 12:38Casuals believe he’s the only show in town. Wonder how benn and josh kelly would match up now? Fairly certain a couple of years ago most would have felt Kelly was the much better prospect.
Fast forward to now, Kelly seems to have stagnated a little.. a couple of meh performances, power not carrying through the levels and he still fooks about too much. Benn on the other hand seems to be learning on the job and improving.
Think it would be a good fight.

My mates are like that. Didn’t even know the Bentley v Heffron rematch (great fight after the first one) had happened when I mentioned it the morning after but couldn’t watch that awful all women’s card on Sky quick enough the day after. It’s like people these days are fans of Matchroom rather than fans of boxing.maverick23 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020, 15:19Shows what a good job he’s done promoting himself. I don’t know whether it’s fans of Matchroom or just the Sky Sports hype machine in play (Sky Sports News, loads of preview shows, heavy advertising on social media - every time I seem to go on Facebook I get pushed something from Sky Sports Boxing).AMA wrote: ↑24 Nov 2020, 03:55My mates are like that. Re: Round-by-Round: Conor Benn vs. Sebastian Formella - 21 November 2020
Trouble is, too many promoters just think putting a show on is enough, you've got to prostitute yourself, your shows and most importantly your fighters, Eddie being with Sky gives him a leg up but he also uses social media to its full effect, i get why he grates on people but he's a promoter, the clues in the title, Warren and Hennessey need to up their game because they've got fighters with more talent than some of Hearn's guys but nobody knows who they are, BT need to up their content instead of showing shitty reruns, Sam Jones is annoying but i respect his hussle, he knows Joyce cant talk so does it for him and it gets people talking, as a promoter if you do that then your doing it right
