Ryrder can pull it off due to having a better current shape and also a lot of physical prowess.

I re-did the poll..

Previous poll had Lem dominating via stoppage..

A lot has changed since May 2019..
Bloody hell, yes. Ryder put on a fine display and had me worried as a Callum Smith supporter. Now surely he’d have a good chance.

Was thinking about checking out Ryder’s fights that prepared him for Smith. I do respect pros dedicated to improvement who get the results - Liam Williams, too.

i think oherwise i think john is an all round better fighter than lemieux, lemieux will need to catch john flush to spark him out, JR works harder is fitter ,stronger ,wont be bullied , great inside , also johns been sparking out fighters himself i see an upper cut and a ryder win

Odd statement, Wilder hits harder than anyone and he lost his last fight (arguably his last two fights).

Ryder isn't exactly feather fisted himself by the way. Also he throws good combinations.

Lemieux might well win. But it is no sure thing.

at some point lem will land, ryder is hittable. wilder is a heavyweight. that's my reasoning, we will see on the night

lem wont need to land flush....the power he has he just needs to land something. ryder isn't steel chinned, lets not pretend he is. Outside of that I agree.

'steel chinned' maybe not, but he isn't exactly chinny either.

I have only ever seen him hurt once in what has been quite a long career.

Lemieux has also been stopped himself and was also buzzed by BJS a couple times.

As I say, Lem has a chance. But it is only a punchers chance. Whereas Ryder has a lot more in his locker, so if he can avoid getting caught himself has a very good shot at winning.

It is an interesting fight, I hope it happens as I was disappointed to see it fall through last time.

This is a great fight and on Ryder's effort against Smith it's more or less 50/50

Lemuiex hits like a mule but can be out worked and out boxed

Ryder very likeable and hope he wins

fair enough , and DL certainly does have power no doubt, but to land that shot he will leave himself vulnerable ryder aint a curt stevens he is a smart boxer which he doesnt get credit for also dl is his size can see it beeing an inside fight which i think favours jr , i see the gorilla ko him out , but its a good fight no clear favourite just who people fancy

John Ryder will fight on Golovkin-Szeremeta undercard

Hollywood Nights - John Ryder is back!

Islington's John Ryder (28-5, 16KOs) is back in action on December 18 on the undercard of Gennadiy Golovkin's IBF and IBO World title defence to Kamil Szeremeta at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The 32-year-old southpaw will face an opponent yet to be named over 10-rounds at super-middleweight. 'The Gorilla' hasn't fought this year after his last fight ended in a controversial unanimous decision defeat to WBA World champion Callum Smith (27-0, 19KOs) last November. Ryder seemed to get the better of the Liverpudlian for a majority of the close fight, but the scorecards didn't reflect his valiant effort.

Ranked WBA #7, WBC #9, IBO #4, Ryder is still in contention for world title challenges and will aim to win convincingly on December 18 to enter 2021 as a top ranked contender, but a rematch with Smith is still at the very top of his wishlist. He said previously "The fight that I really want is the rematch with Callum [Smith]. In order to get myself back there then why not someone like Danny Jacobs. He’s a great fighter and I want to test myself against the best."
