Edgar Berlanga - Your thoughts

Post by Controversial »

"The Chosen One". He's certainly off to a flyer, 15 fights all won by KO in the 1st round. I've only seen snippets of him, he can obviously dig but not sure I see much else.

After Sierra fight, its time to match him against some undefeated prospect (Steven Nelson, Ali Akhmedov, Vladimir Shishkin), or title eliminator. In main event of course. If he can handle that, he will be serious at 168 and 175.

ya agree. so far he's been stepped up a bit, but still facing guys who are coming to lose and are only just a bit more moderatley equipped to survive

after this next one he should fight another guy who is showing some potential himself as a winner and going to come in there for a victory

Clearly a talent but young and probably a lot to learn still. i mean, he has never had to fight tired, or hurt, or injured, ect. so i think you wanna step him up to a levle with some resistance and just spend 2021 there learning. For his next 5 or 6 fights id just pick from tough 30-60th type guys. Work my way trough this list or something simular.

Vaughn Alexander: never stopped decent levle.
Mike Guy: tough, stopped once, in the 8th, by world class. If berlanga dosent get rounds here its a massive statement.
Denis Douglin: also tough, stopped befor, but never real early and only to true world class guys.
Peter Quillin: Only stopped once in 37 fights, admittedly round 1, but to jacobs...
Caleb Truax: stopped in round 1 once, made it to the 12th vs jacobs, proven levle with 24 rounds to degale, decent yard stick.
Ronald Ellis: only 1 loss, never stopped.
Alantez Fox: prime, good record, went 12 with andrade and dropped him...

If that was his 2021 He would of either gained plenty of rounds and experence, or established himself as an absolute weapon ready to go for a higher levle.

Obviously he has power to spare but he has to fight someone with a pulse before anyone can determine how good he actually is.

Maybe Angulo, Truax, or Nicholson?
