He needs to make it serious this time, if he is taking punches like that in sparring as well as the fights he has had he wants to quit before any serious harm happens

Didn't he gamble away most of his earnings from the Ortiz fight betting on snail races or something?

Hard Northern c*nt but not really a boxer. Needs to find another way of earning money otherwise he'll end up with some sort of brain injury. Seems a nice bloke so surely he can tick over with his own gym? Become a landlord and run a pub, or something like that?

He'd make a decent head doorman.

Most of us aren't destined to be millionaires. He's been given enough chances.

As expected, he's already been on to Hearn after the Babic fight.

I think that's a great summary of the situation.

Rocky Graziano said in the book 'In This Corner' there comes a time to 'stuff your money in your socks' because you can only earn from boxing for so long and there will be a time you can't do it anymore or you start picking up irreversible long-term damage.

He is a bright guy but was never in the hunt to become a millionaire out of the game, he is a big, rough, tough trier - if he had trained properly and won that Commonwealth title, he could have banked a nice few defences out of it and he could have been set in a modest way... but it looks like that won't happen and we're seeing another Danny Williams - who actually did win titles and fought for the world heavyweight title but when does enough become enough?

Out of Hearn's mouth.

He was on the phone to Hearn after Babic beat Little asking for the fight. Hearn has said no. It's on one of the ifl interviews. Unlucky for Dave, but telling your promoter that you don't want to get hit anymore and you're retiring is not the way to go about the boxing business unless you mean it.

Allen will be back next year either way, the guy is bi-polar in my opinion, people should take whatever he says with a large dose of salt.

I fear he’ll be back...I just hope he isn’t DDD’s comeback opponent.
