Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
I feel like there are 3 main options.
-Usyk for vacant WBO if AJ vacates to fight fury.
-Parker for WBO number 1 spot, If Usyk fights AJ.
-Yoka Olympic rematch, As an interim fight to wait for WBO to be vacated so he can fight Usyk.
Personaly like em all, but id like to see the Yoka fight most because i think joyce can win it, settle that score and then fight one of the other 2 options.

Yoka fight makes the most sense during COVID. I think JJ beats Parker. Haven’t seen anything from JP that’s impressed me since he was spider bitten. And not really all that much before to be honest.gregregegg wrote: ↑28 Nov 2020, 21:52 I feel like there are 3 main options.

Usyk would be wise to avoid the big man, but that’s an intriguing matchup.
Personally I think JJ beats Parker. I haven’t ever seen anything from Parker all that impressive.

Chisora seems like a natural fight to make.
Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
I actually want to see him fight AJ. He's a threat.

Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
He’s calling out usyk but the tony yoka one is a good one , he could fight chisora that would be interesting Or the winner of Parker v fa . I wouldn’t want to see a Dubois rematch as I think would go the same way let him rebuild like haye did and learn from it.
Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
Usyk, Yoka, Ortiz.
Actually, anyone of now free top 10 opponents or his Olympic rivals.

Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
Joyce could potentially knock Ortiz into retirement then face a legit top 15 opponent to earn his title shot. Maybe Parker, Yoka, Whyte or Pobvetkin?
Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
Most intriguing for me would be Joyce vs Filip Hrgovic. Both 12-0, both not getting any younger. They have
great amateur pedigrees but look way worse than their record would imply. It would also drag Hrgovic away from the Rydell Booker and the Alexandre Kartozia of the world and into the ring with legit opponents, so for me is a nice 2 in 1 package.
They also fought in the WSB, so there is also that piece to hype up the fight.
In a similar vein, I would like to see Joyce vs Yoka. Undefeated professionals with a controversial olympic final encounter. A bit lower on my list because I feel Yoka can only improve, and the olympic rematch narrative guarantees an evergreen quality to this fight, so I am not in a rush to see it.
#3 would be Hunter vs Joyce. Both fighters have proven to belong in the top 15, but they lack a "quality" name to position themselves as credible title challengers. A crossroad fight, with the winner in a prime position to fight for a title, should AJ or Fury drop one to pursue the big showdown.
#4 would be Joyce vs Ortiz, just because I want to see if Ortiz is ready for the pension or if we are going to see him for a long time still, a la BHP or Yoel Romero

how about Zhilei Zhang? Another older, undefeated Olympic silver medalist.
Unless Joyce can get a (true) top 15, thats what i would want to see

Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
From a promotional/network perspective, Joyce could be matched against the likes of Ajagba, Yoka, Rivas, Takam and Kabayel.
I can’t imagine Joyce facing another prospect, which rules out Ajagba and Yoka.
Therefore, Joyce could face Rivas, Takam or Kabayel next. Those seem to be the most likely names in the frame.
That being said, Joe Joyce has the perfect style to walk through Luis Ortiz and demolish the veteran Cuban within six rounds, not because I rate the Brit particularly highly, but because styles makes fights. And that’s the fight I’d like to see!!!
Unfortunately though, that fight seems unlikely, because they’re on different sides of the proverbial street, and Ortiz will inevitably be reserved by the PBC to become Ruiz Jr’s career/reputation rebuilding stepping stone opponent in the near future.
I’ve ruled out Usyk as a potential opponent, because I think Oleksandr will be paid to step aside to allow AJ to defend his WBO title against Tyson Fury.
And Joyce almost certainly won’t be facing Usyk until the WBO mandates it.

I think Hrg/Joe wouldn't happen as they are going up different paths to an eventual title shot.
Hunter would be really interesting. Hunter would be the best boxer Joyce faced and could provide a bit of preview for an Usyk rematch.
JOyce vs Ortiz would make sense for Joyce to show how far he can actually rise. Oldman Orts is still a terrific fighter.

Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
Yoka. Easily marketable and I think both parties are willing.
Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
Joyce was a top level amateur for years, but with his style I think he suits the pro ranks even more. He'll be a lot better over 12 rounds, rather than the 3 or 5 from the ams and WSB. He's considered by many to be a slow starter, with an incredible engine, which would certainly suit a longer fight.
I think the guy is massively underrated, even now after his Dubois win folk are discrediting Dubois, rather than crediting Joyce. His timing and footwork are excellent.
He gives anyone a hard fight, including the top 3 and beats most of the top 10 as of now. Ruiz, Parker, Rivas, Whyte, Chisora, Takam...he beats them all IMO.
Joyce Vs Helenius would be a very fun fight to watch.

I think Povetkin. He looked terrible against Whyte and was well on his way to being stopped until the one punch KO. I reckon JJ could grind out a win there. Lets face it Povetkin aint getting any younger and likely loses the Whyte rematch IMO
Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
He will KO Whyte again, but he probably won't handle Joyce now.cannonball wrote: ↑01 Dec 2020, 19:03 I think Povetkin. Re: Who should Joe Joyce fight next ?
Joyce should still be moved up slowly as DDD himself was an unproven prospect himself
Helenius would be a very fun fight but maybe risky.
Takam or Washington could be options
