Tyson and Jones Jr. were simply old two men in the fifties, well past-their-physical primes, wearing 12oz gloves, competing in two-minute rounds and they basically body-sparred, with a few taps to the head, last weekend. It wasn’t a fight.
The CSAC repeatedly told everyone beforehand that it wasn’t going to be a proper contest. They did their upmost to set realistic expectations, because they'd implemented strict rules that both men had already promised to abide by.
And despite the promotional marketing, there was never going to be a winner, and neither Tyson nor Jones Jr. was going for the KO. It was merely light entertainment, rather than a genuine sporting spectacle.
And I’m not being a hater either. Good for them! They raised lots of money for charity, and both of them earned a decent pay-packet too!
Tyson is 54 years of age and hasn’t won a legitimate bout for almost eighteen years. And it’s been more than 24 years since he last defeated a top-ten world-rated heavyweight. He was only 38 years of age when he suffered two back-to-back stoppage defeats to journeymen, which were the final outings of his career.
It’s absolutely ridiculous for anyone to feel that Mike would be competitive against the names you’ve listed. And it’s actually preposterous to sincerely believe he’d even consider facing any of those guys.
For sure, Mike would surely love to engage in an exhibition against Fury and Joshua, but it would only be a harmless light entertainment WWE-style charity event.
Mike Tyson will never resume his boxing career in a legitimate sporting capacity.
Stop being silly and please refrain from mentioning Foreman and Holmes, because their situations bear no resemblance to Tyson's.
