I imagine many will favor Liston due to nostalgia but based on footage of both guys Liston's advantages aren't really apparent. He doesn't seem noticeably quicker for example and he's not especially elusive.

I haven't seen Gassiev that much, and Im not too sold on Liston's abilities because of his connections so many of his fights could have been fixed, but, based on what I have seen, Liston would probably win here.
