On Monday, a federal court in New York City issued a certified judgment in favor of Pristine Jewelers NY, Inc. against Adrien Broner and his company, About Billions, LLC, in the amount of $1,464,450.63.
The lawsuit was filed in 2018, alleging that Pristine Jewelers sold Broner custom jewelery on credit and Broner failed to pay.
About Billions sent four different checks to Pristine Jewelers that were returned for insufficient funds. In June 2019, Broner and About Billions entered into a settlement agreement requiring payment of $1,252,000 in three installations, but after making the first payment of $252,000, they failed to make the remaining payments required under the settlement agreement. Pristine Jewelers then moved for a default judgment and Broner and About Billions failed to respond, which lead to this week's issuance of the certified judgment.
The $1.464 million figure includes interest and attorneys' fees. The case continues against Broner's manager / business associate Ravone Littlejohn, who signed the four bad checks. Littlejohn's defense is that the jeweler knew all along that Littlejohn was signing and issuing the checks for the benefit of Broner and About Billions, and not in Littlejohn's own personal capacity, with the clear understanding that Broner was going to cause the funds to be placed into Littlejohn’s business account to cover the checks. Broner never did that, however, leaving Littlejohn potentially on the hook for the unpaid balance.
Broner also has another large civil judgment against him, for about $830,000, over a nightclub assault incident

Showtime Sports president and general manager, Stephen Espinoza, has already confirmed that “Broner is coming back in January!”
I'm not sure who he's fighting, but I've read that Broner could earn as much as $2m to face Ivan Redkach.
That should go a long way to help pay off his debts, with a victory helping to justify Broner receiving another huge payday opportunity to be matched against another marquee name.

About Billions will be about broke long before his fighting days are over.
$2 million for his next fight?
After he pays his corner and the tax man he won't have enough left to cover this jeweler debt.
There will be more bounced checks and more lawsuits in his future.

Buying jewellery representing such a chunk of one’s net worth isn’t normally considered the smartest move is it
It’s such a shame for the lad, he had such lofty ambitions of wealth too that will be unfulfilled
