Middleweights: James Toney vs Roberto Duran

Post by elmersalsa »

Two of my favorite boxers ever. Who wins? Both of them at their best shape possible.

Both beat Iran Barkley.

I would pick James "Lights Out" Toney by UD in 15 fought rounds of toe to toe warfare. A lot of skill in this fight.

Toney would methodically outbox Duran by a close margin.

If Duran is fully prepared he has enough to beat a James Toney at 160. He'd have to be in tip top shape though.

Toney would out-point Duran by decision in a hard fought war.

IMO: In 10 or 12 rounds, Toney by decision win. If it's scheduled for 15, a late stoppage by Toney is certainly a possiblility.
