Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur - 5 December 2020
Not good enough from Yarde. After all the pre fight talk about bringing the entertainment and then producing that kind of display against a one armed fighter. Well, it's embarrassing.
Yarde doesn't have enough in his locker, i've never been sold on him to be honest. He looks the part and can hit hard, but lacks the fundamentals to be a top tier fighter. Which is no surprise if you've seen any of the clips from his gym work.
For Arthur this was his biggest fight and I feel he was being written off too quickly. Even with one arm he did enough to keep Yarde at bay. It is very telling.
Oh and just to add, John Lewis is a disgrace, having Yarde up by that amount and then last week letting a fighter continue with an injury that may have blinded him (warrens words) - Joke.

Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur - 5 December 2020
I didn’t see the fight. It’s not like Yarde to be in a boring scrap though. An off night?
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur - 5 December 2020
I didnt think it was boring, Arthur just jabbed his way to victory while yarde bungled around on the outside.
tunde is a clown, when yarde was losing and needed some advice, he was just saying lions in the camp in the corner.

Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur - 5 December 2020
Totally agree. Yarde just plodded around and whilst Arthur only really used the jab at least he hit his opponent. It wasnt until the last round that Yarde landed a few clean shots. As for IJL, he just underpins how shoddily the sport is run in the UK, he is a disgrace.Twinkle Toes wrote: ↑05 Dec 2020, 20:20 Not good enough from Yarde. That corner was a joke. He kept telling Yarde he was winning

There’s definitely a rematch clause.
BT Sport cannot possibly pretend Yarde is a world-beater when his record is terrible.

Arthur’s post-fight interviews portray him as a ridiculously modest fighter.
I just hope that he wins the rematch.

Ian John Lewis incompetence resulted in my biggest gambling win (Enzo v Orville). He basically walks on water to me even though I know he is terrible

Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur - 5 December 2020
Anthony Yarde: “80% of the effective shots landed were mine...
“I have absolutely no doubt I won the fight...
“There’s absolutely no way Lydon Arthur beat me,
“No [I didn’t struggle to get into range with Lydon’s jab],
“I don’t believe I lost [any of the] fist six rounds,
“There’s a reason why one judge it had me so wide [for me]...”
“I’ve been on my phone for the last half hour and all I can see is robbery, robbery and robbery again...”
“There’s absolutely no way Lyndon Arthur won that fight! I almost knocked him out during the last round!!!”
Am I alone in thinking Yarde is disgracefully delusional?

You can forgive a guy for having a blinkered view in the immediate aftermath of an unexpected defeat especially if he’s surrounded by sycophants.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑05 Dec 2020, 21:34 Anthony Yarde: “80% of the effective shots landed were mine...

In the cold light of day when he’s taken time to reflect I’m sure he’ll see things differently.

If your trainer thinks sparring is not a essential part of your training camp, conditioning and learning exercise on how to solve problems that occur, be able to adjust and navigate difficulties and various styles in preparation for the real fights & thinks choreographing ridiculous & unrealistic pad routines & school girl patty cake hand greetings are more important then I don’t think it should be needed to get to this point to realise “hey maybe I need a boxing coach to teach me about boxing” I mean ffs it’s a joke, and tbh the only reason the fight was even close tonight IMO was because both didn’t do enough, but them 10 jabs per round from Arthur were more than sufficient to give him the win IMO by 116-113, not question of it being any closer again IMO, and IJL
the board seriously need to sort this out now and if they don’t then the heads at the top need sacking, and finally all this lions in the camp nonsense is idiotic, there is no lions in that camp, all gassed up egos full of hot air. what is needed in the camp is a boxing coach and second to tell people to shut the fu k up and listen this is what’s needed, you need to do this, he is doing this when you do that so this what you need to do, it’s called instructions, it’s what boxing coaches do, they study the sport and watch intensely for the slightest mistakes of both their own fighters and the opposing fighter to 1: correct their fighters mistakes they are making and help adjust
2: point out, help and explain to their fighters how to exploit their opponents weaknesses and mistakes they are making during the contests
3: and finally and very importantly remember to put their fu king fighters gum shield back in before the start of each round

The end for Tunde now?
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur - 5 December 2020
That was one sh1t fight !
Lyndon conjures up horrible memories of Matthew Barney, less the grabbing & holding.
Yarde was fuck1ng terrible. The Kovalev result now flatters him after that sh1te performance.
Yarde only has himself to blame. He pushed forward all night but threw bugger all for the most part against a negative Arthur flicking his jab out.
And the crowning turd in the water pipe...there is a rematch

It’s abundantly clear that Yade sincerely believes he absolutely dominated Lyndon Arthur, when this clearly wasn’t the case!!!CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑05 Dec 2020, 21:40You can forgive a guy for having a blinkered view in the immediate aftermath of an unexpected defeat especially if he’s surrounded by sycophants.

And let’s not forget that Yarde has never beaten any top-ten rated UK or European opponent.
And Yarde’s only victories within the last 21 months came against two opponents that had failed to win a combined total of 55 from their 75 bouts.

Good post.
We all know what Yarde needs to do but only he can make those steps. I think he had the ability to make this fight much easier for himself tonight. We saw in the last round what would have happened if he'd fought with some urgency. He's had a career of being allowed to be lackluster and it's become his way of being. He fought like he was terrified of running out of gas like he did vs Kovalev. It was only in the last round that he had the confidence to open up, knowing the end of the fight was near. I think we all collectively hope that he has the ability to be self reflective and humble enough to come to terms with the fact that his current setup just isn't worth it.
This is a fighter who will go down as one of the biggest wastes of talent. How he had Kovalev going in Russia was impressive considering his setup is so amateurish. He has a proper trainer and preparation and he might in fact have won that fight. Losing to Arthur the way he did is another step back. Does he want to achieve the best he can achieve in boxing? Or does he want to continue with Tunde and the yes men. This loss can be the making of him if he makes the right decisions now. Otherwise, he'll probably lose the rematch and even if he does manage to win it, he'll get found out again somewhere up the line. The likes of Bolotnik would do him right now and he really has the talent to beat a Bolotnik.
