Has Bazza been the best matchmaker of recent years?
I know he spends all his lads cash on underwear and takeaways but looking at Taylor’s record, it will take some beating.

Aye, he knows his onions. He did a good job with Frampton as well in that respect at least.

Yeah - Taylor’s matching was perfect. The only other recent Olympian that I thought was matched really well was AJ but Matchroom’s matchmaking with other fighters hasn’t been as good.mickey1975 wrote: ↑07 Dec 2020, 23:23 I know he spends all his lads cash on underwear and takeaways but looking at Taylor’s record, it will take some beating.

Taylor's matchmaking was perfect, as everyone on the site mentioned at the time, and Frampton's pretty darn good too.

I know it’s been mentioned, just DDD and Yarde have highlighted it for me.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑08 Dec 2020, 05:07 Taylor's matchmaking was perfect, as everyone on the site mentioned at the time, and Frampton's pretty darn good too.

It also helps to have total confidence in your kid. Wazza did it with Naz.

The better the prospect, the easier to match they are.

Yep, say what you like about Bazza/Cyclone (and everyone does) but they knew how to make fights that developed the fighters, having them engage in competitive fights which also managed to intrigue the fans.
Like Mickey says, it helps to have total confidence in your fighter, but there is still a significant element of risk to the matchmaking.
Being so scared of a loss that you neglect the development of a fighter is the real issue, and it fornicating plagues the sport in this country.
