If it was Floyd Mayweather locked in a cage with a crocodile in Dundee I’d definitely tune in.

If it was SR., it would be interesting.
Re: Mayweather to fight YouTuber Logan Paul in ‘exhibition’
Is this real?
Also, OT.
Is it the lockdown but I can’t remember a time when fight after fight has been lined up like the last few weeks and the next few. It’s stacked.
Fantastic for fans but sad to hear a fight like this maybe happening and turning boxing into a bit of a freak show.

Exactly. Smash him to bits and knock him out.
It has to be a Dave Boy Green vs Sugar Ray Leonard type knock out.
Floyd will be around 154 vs 190 YouTuber.

I doubt that will happen because it would mean an end to these sort of spectacles and there is a lot of money to be made. Boxing is always about risk vs reward. FMM is getting millions for little risk, I don't blame him to be honest. The issue I have isn't with FMM, it's with these "celebs" earning more money than 99.9% of fighters who dedicate their lives to the sport and in the main retire without a pot to piss in. That I think is unfair and a kick in the teeth to the pros out there. Lets face it, who in their right mind would turn down millions if people are prepared to pay for it.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑06 Dec 2020, 23:23The best way to discourage such nonsense would be for Floyd or any other boxer to absolutely go to town on these deluded gobshites who think that just doing glorified boxercise for a few months makes them pro fighters. Looking forward to this one. Fight of the century.

The guy is already a multimillionaire just from chatting continual bollocks on YouTube and making attention seeking videos. All this is going to do is increase his revenue from hits/videos. It's almost a self serving exercise for him, it can only generate more income for him as more people talk about it.Controversial wrote: ↑08 Dec 2020, 10:46I doubt that will happen because it would mean an end to these sort of spectacles and there is a lot of money to be made. He’s a complete pudendum. He says he’s going to smash up Canelo too, I’d like to see that fight, just to see his ribs smashed so hard, they’d be sticking out through his skin.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑07 Dec 2020, 09:25 He's this guy

It will be like Mayweather is in The Matrix for this fight.
The previous poster is right. He should smash him to bits and put an end to this kind of farce.

Not his fault people want to pay to see it, it's not illegal. You could use that argument with most top sportsman, footballers asking for another 10K-100K a week, it's not like they need it either. In a way football is worse as the costs for pay are offset on ticket prices, kit etc.. so the fans are paying more, at least with PPV boxing you have the choice to pay or watch it on YouTube the next day for free.squiggy wrote: ↑08 Dec 2020, 14:30How about a guy who already has something approaching a billion? I largely agree with you but can we even blame the “celebs”. It’s a selfish world, floyd wants his money, the celeb wants his, the shameless broadcasters and pundits want theirs. Sad to say it but only a tiny minority of boxing purists see anything wrong with itControversial wrote: ↑08 Dec 2020, 10:46I doubt that will happen because it would mean an end to these sort of spectacles and there is a lot of money to be made. No I don't blame them for wanting to earn big money, let's face it, most peoples moralistic views would go out the window if they were suddenly offered a way to earn millions. My issue is these 'celebs' don't deserve life changing money and fame when most top tier fighters couldn't generate the same money. They should have to give 90% of it to charity, maybe towards helping injured fighters or ones that have hit hard times. That should be the trade off.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑08 Dec 2020, 18:31I largely agree with you but can we even blame the “celebs”. These types of exhibitions have always happened though, just not making the same amount of money. Ali was having exhibitions when he was still fighting so in reality it's nothing new, just more well known today and bigger events because of the internet.
Re: Mayweather to fight YouTuber Logan Paul in ‘exhibition’
Floyd was boring to watch the last few years he was actually fighting. It's merely opinion if he was an ATG because different people look for different things .. for me excitement is required, so that excludes Floyd .. he aged as a fighter very much like Bernard Hopkins
That people are keen to see him go through a charade of boxing a fella who's only talent is getting a sizeable YouTube viewer figure is quite remarkable.
Most knew McGregor didn't have a chance, but at least he knew how to fight.

WBC Prez Smiles: I Will 100% Support Mayweather vs. Paul
World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman has no problem with the recently announced exhibition clash between former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather and Youtube star Logan Paul.
Mayweather, 43-years-old, retired back in August of 2017, with his unbeaten 50-0 record, after stopping UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the tenth round at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena.
Paul, 25-years-old, is extremely popular on social media, but he's severely lacking boxing experience in comparison to Mayweather, who many regarded as the best boxer of this generation.
Their contest, financially backed by Fanmio Boxing, is taking place on February 20th on pay-per-view.
Mayweather unretired in December 2018, when he traveled to Japan and demolished kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round of an exhibition.
Paul, who outweighs Mayweather by at least 50-pounds, made his professional boxing debut in the fall of 2019, when he lost a six round split decision to Youtube rival KSI.
Since the announcement of the February fight, widespread criticism has erupted in the sport.
But, Sulaiman views the contest as a positive for boxing.
“This is going to be something good for boxing. This is going to bring millions of eyes to our sport. I appreciate Logan and Jake [Paul], they have worked hard. I will support Floyd vs Logan 100 percent,” Sulaiman told The Sun.
Sulaiman's position is not surprising, with his organization backing last month's pay-per-view exhibition between retired former champion Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.
Mayweather reportedly made $9 million for the contest with Nasukawa. He expects to make a lot more for the bout with Paul.
“This is going to be a great night for the fans worldwide as we are bringing something special to them through sports and entertainment. I have never shied away from doing things differently throughout my career and fighting Logan Paul in this special exhibition is just another opportunity for me to do it again," Mayweather said.

Re: Mayweather to fight YouTuber Logan Paul in ‘exhibition’
Lots of big money has been mentioned - but will that really materialize?? I cant see boxing fans buying it, so I guess its based on youtube followers of Logan Paul to finance it.
