Looks light. I guess he’ll be boxing
He does look in good shape. Interesting to see if he’s got it in the tank to box in the later rounds, if not it could be a hard task standing in front of AJ later on

He'll be fencing in typical euro fashion. He comes in looking to do the bare minimum in fights. Joshua will be scared of making a mistake. We should see a very unexciting fight.

One thing we saw with Pulev is that if someone does bring a fight to him he will respond in kind. He won't be coming in here intimidated of Joshua nor will any Joshua opponent from here on out. The sight of an obese man clubbing Joshua around the ring and basically making him quit is never going to be forgotten and there is now no fear factor with Joshua.

Excuse the Buncey'ism, I don't mean to sound like an "after timer" but as good a fighter as Joshua undoubtedly was, did he ever look unbeatable, à la Mike Tyson in his pomp ?

I didn't think so. Yes, I thought he would take care of Ruiz at the first time of asking, but Ruiz can fight in fairness.

If Joshua gives Pulev a good hiding he will restore a lot respect...and more importantly, probably a fair bit of self confidence.

the timing of pulev as an opponent is very good for aj, it will be an 'old' aj style bomb out over a recognizable name....pulev isn't a scrub but he's made for aj to look destructive against i think

I agree, but he still has to go out there and do the business. Something AJ tends to do, to his credit.

Pulev isn't just going to hand it to him on a silver platter, Joshua will have to be on point.

I rewatched it the other day and thought KP was game AF with a great chin.
He got up caught cold with a bomb after a minute and was still able to stand and one leg and “prove” he wasn’t hurt.
I say he takes a shot better than AJ for sure.

He IS but you can never totally write a guy like Pulev off. He’s so damn competent.
He’s got long arms, a good jab...
I’d be surprised if AJ seats him aside early without fuss.

On the B.A.D boxing podcast preview, Adam Booth said that if there's one thing Pulev can do is whack, but I'd say if there is one thing Pulev does well it's his sound boxing ability.

He's got fair power for sure, but his well schooled, stand up boxing ability is Pulev's biggest selling point IMO.

Looking at the news, Hearn is looking past Pulev. The headline is the Fury fight not this weekend's affair. Maybe that's a strategy to help sell the ppv using Fury's name but it's got egg on your face written all over it. How does AJ getting starched affect next year or does it not matter?

i wouldn't. hes got good fundamentals but he's pretty slow of foot, stiff, and most importantly a bit predictable IMO. i think he has various elements that will make Joshua brave and put him in position to assert his better physicality

I wouldn't be THAT surprised either, but Pulev is decent and AJ will surely be a bit more patient every time since Ruiz..

It was alarming how he didn't know how to defend a left hook against wlad.

He’d be better off steamrollering him. Pulev has good basics.

He thought he was defending a jab each time and reached too far in front to parry, IIRC

The fight is ON! Joshua will stun him in the first round with a couple of knockdowns... And Pulev gets TKO'd in the 4th round - MY PREDICTION!

Well they always say that.
It could be like Hagler Hearns if both decide to go for it straight away - catching AJ cold would seem to be The Cobra's best strategy. Less so for AJ, but let's hope so ! :box:
Realistically he's gonna be behind his jab and high guard and it'll go 6-7 rounds.
