Ted Cheeseman vs JJ Metcalf

Post by maverick23 »

So Eddie won the purse bids for a fight involving a FW fighter for a change. Really good fight. Does Frank let it happen? If so, who do people think will win?

Let's see, it is a good fight, however it seems that Benn v Jenkins wasn't allowed

Very good fight this. I rate metcalf a lot and think he’s got enough about him to win this

Surprise, surprise...The Big Cheese takes the fight the other light middles are crapping their pants over.

Love him or hate him, don't doubt Cheeseman's bottle.

I like the Cheese a lot.

This is (yet another) tough fight, but I will be rooting for him.

Metcalf has been promoted really poorly. He’s a good fighter but hasn’t been active and isn’t well known at all.

All the more reason for a fighter with a good profile on the British scene like Cheeseman to give this one a miss, or let one of the others to step into the unknown first.

Metcalf looks like he brings some serious heat to the occasion.

It's a great pairing, but Hearn is just burning up Cheeseman until his body & mind are done IMO.

Hard to promote someone who doesn't fight regular enough, it's a shame

Isn’t it down to the promoter to get him fights? I didn’t realise how old he was until a couple of days ago - would have thought they’d all be keen to move him on quickly.

It makes sense for both of them as they are both highly ranked by the IBF as well (I have no clue how Metcalf is rated at 5 seeing as he fights once a year and has hardly beaten anyone of note and even Cheeseman is pretty highly ranked at 7 which is surprising) and the winner will probably put themselves in a good position for a World title eliminator.

He is managed by MTK but I think a lot of the issues of inactivity have been down to injury from his end. He was meant to face Harry Scraff last month but one of Scraff's team got Covid and they couldn't find a replacement on a few days notice.

I get it but Frank’s had a few shows since then (with crap undercards) and so have MTK.
