SKY SPORTS VALUE FOR MONEY?

Post by DG »

Now. I don’t watch any sport other than Boxing and MMA. It seems every decent fight is PPV.

I’m going to cancel from the end of the year.

Do you still pay fair the PPVs? I’ve avoided all of the recent ones bar Whyte vs PEDvetkin.

Adam Smith is the worst thing to happen to British boxing. I would never pay a penny towards anything he's involved in. I have alternative means of viewing. Once again, he's a complete pr*ck and should have been taken off Sky years ago. Johnny Nelson coming out with wisdom such as Tennyson beating Gervonte Davis. You really want to pay money to listen to these morons?

Haven't paid a penny to Sky this year and would never go back at the cost of it. Scandalous.

channel 5 presenting was ok last night. You had the main woman who came across as a decent middle aged host there to do a job. Then you had woodhall and groves commentating with another commentator who was good. I'd like to see Jane Couch involved in some capacity. I'm sure she could present a tv show after all the interviews she did.

Ah yes I do recall.

It was absolutely disgraceful how she was treated by the BBBC back in the day. Refusing her a licence because she's a woman. Disgusting

My 18month sky sports contract is up next month and I dont think im gonna miss it,im a football fan but a boxing fan first, the shìte we get served is nothing more than criminal. They prey on the average Joe paying for the ppv's because a real boxing fan wouldnt pay for the shìte they are serving us. Iv just subscribed to DAZN and I hope they are the end of adam smith and sky sports involvement in the sport tbh.

It’s£25

Sky is dog shit, got rid of it years ago, any AJ fight will be PPV and I accept that, but Whyte Povetkin and then Chisora Usyk, absolute piss take.

I used to like the buzz of PPVs - £15 was all right. £25 too greedy. I sacked off Sky Sports sub year ago. I get access to watch Darts/boxing on brothers online sub so sometimes watch that. Wont renew it.

I have sky sports and bt sport to avoid fomo on the big occasion. I buy ppvs as often as I used to, maybe 2 or 3 times a year - back in the day that meant I watched em all now it means I miss three quarters of them.

My enjoyment of most sports would be massively increased and my irritation with the cost would be massively lessened by having a no commentary option. The lack of such an option only reinforces my belief that comms are mainly there to advertise the product by bullshitting us that what we’re watching is exceptionally entertaining

I’m going to find some other way to watch or catch it on YouTube tomorrow.

Sky are shockingly bad with PPV and the. Crap commentators - bar Woolhouse.

I view this as 70/30% in AJ favour.

Not competitive.

The radio is very good. Or follow a guy called Mark Tan on FB and it’s pretty much faultless.

Sky Sports is value for money if you watch football, rugby and cricket. If you don't, it isn't.

Nor do I. I stopped paying for Sky after Lewis v Holy 2.

I pay 20 a month for Sky Sports which is the maximum I’d ever pay. Sh!t for boxing due to the PPV model and the mugs who support it, but I get value from football and occasionally NFL or cricket.

I suspect most of subscriber money (like 90 % or more ) goes straight to pay the premier league and other football leagues .
So if you aren’t watching football it’s not value at all .. you are just subsidising the football department!

I haven’t had Sky Sports for years, I just chuck a tenner in for a NowTV pass on the rare occasion that there is a decent fight not on box office.

I’ve bought the fight tonight just to have some live boxing on in the background. Not expecting a great deal from any section of the card.

I have sky sports more for nfl and bellator mma these days, there's the odd boxing fight but I refuse to pay ppv for every half decent fight as I feel most should already be included in my subscription. Fortunately there's other ways to watch them...

Agree. It’s a con. I want AJ to lose so we can hopefully stop this PPV rip off nonsense.
