It's true isn't it. We all know Tyson's going to slaughter AJ tonight it was just a matter of keeping the whole huge UK event on course. When will a tiny country like the UK ever dominate world heavyweight boxing again? It's a once in a century thing, at best. If you're British and into boxing it's a big hairy deal.

Cherry pick imo. USYK isn’t acclimatised to the weight.
Usyk is his mandatory so not really a cherry pick.

I think it has to be AJ vs Fury next.

AJ could lose to Usyk and then the megafight will be off.
It will be one of the biggest HW fights ever and so clearly the Biggest British Fight Ever.
It has to be @ Wembley with fans and it will be incredible.

How was it?

Heard most of it on the radio but missed the stoppage.

They were saying they thought it should have been stopped in the third after Pulev ‘quit’ and walked away?

I feel the same. Someone offered to sell me a painting once, but once he had described it to me I didn't see any point in seeing it.

He got hurt and turned his back. Refs like IJL would have stopped it straight away..

There was a definitely a dicey moment in the third where Pulev could have been waved off before no doubt roaring back in protest. Thank god that didn’t happen.

yeh he did turn his back to AJ and walk to the corner but the ref said he was just concussed so it was okay.

No, a f*ck up ref like IJL would have panicked and stopped it 100%, but this ref did the right thing, saw it as the brave Bulgarian having taken some clattering shots was disoriented and just trying to get out of the way for a breather, think he was trying to turn and take a knee...

Yes , he turned his back and cowered in the corner .

Joshua won at a canter , caught maybe once or twice but even then had a sense of vulnerability about him .

Still wouldn't write him off against Fury .

C'mon, there finally were decent Hughie's and Okolie's fights.
The bar must be exceptionally low now for 25 quid ppv cards.

It shoulda been stopped for sure.
Glad it wasn't, but Pulev turned his back and ran away.

He did turn his back and quitters never prosper. But he toughed it out. He probably only landed half a dozen decent shots but was enough to deter Joshua.

I think Joshua fights scared when he feels he can’t finish his opponent when he wants. It happened here and let Pulev back into the fight. I still think he could beat Fury. And I’ll be backing him.

I just wish Fury had fought in December as originally planned instead of getting side tracked by some dubious legal challenge from Wilder's team.

Have to give a shout out to Mike Costello on Radio 5.

Great commentary as always. Particularly the last round

He is very underrated.

I've just come into the thread so haven't read any of it at all but that was gash and I wasn't impressed by anything I saw there at all.

Undercard was shite as well.

Now I'll have a read through and see if I'm a jaded old bore and it was a corking night of entertainment or whether everybody agrees with me.

The card itself was very poor.

Joshua was in good form though, took a couple of decent right handers, but he's dispatched a very tough fighter in Pulev and with relative ease.

Lovely uppercuts, nice jab, has power late in fights. Won every round and had a show reel right hand to finish the fight. I'm not quite sure what you guys expect, unless it kills you to give the guy any credit.
