Cherry pick imo. USYK isn’t acclimatised to the weight.
Usyk is his mandatory so not really a cherry pick.
Is the mandatory due? If not - it’s a cherry pick when you have a Fury fight on the line.

I could well end up Fury v Joshua for the 3 belts, then Joyce v Usyk for the other. Esp I'd Joyce wins it will lead to another huge British fight, further leaving Whyte in the cold.

Joshua was in good form though, took a couple of decent right handers, but he's dispatched a very tough fighter in Pulev and with relative ease.

Lovely uppercuts, nice jab, has power late in fights. Won every round and had a show reel right hand to finish the fight. I'm not quite sure what you guys expect, unless it kills you to give the guy any credit.
It doesn't kill me to give him any credit, and he took Pulev out quicker than I thought he would, but it was still pretty much a given that AJ would win, and there really wasn't any drama or anything really exciting that happened. It was just what we expected. No surprises, nothing controversial or iconic, just kind of... Dull. And I understand there were knockdowns and a definitive stoppage etc, it just didn't light any fires under me.

Glad I streamed it. Watched it in German and the main event never froze once! That's a positive!

Heard most of it on the radio but missed the stoppage.

They were saying they thought it should have been stopped in the third after Pulev ‘quit’ and walked away?
He did turn his back and quitters never prosper. But he toughed it out. He probably only landed half a dozen decent shots but was enough to deter Joshua.

I think Joshua fights scared when he feels he can’t finish his opponent when he wants. It happened here and let Pulev back into the fight. I still think he could beat Fury. And I’ll be backing him.
At what price ?
Hopefully 2/1

I think, if the WBO becomes vacant and Usyk and Joyce fight for it then that is a very interesting match up.

Great commentary as always. Particularly the last round

He is very underrated.
Yep, he's great. Seems a good geezer too.
Its a shame the 5live podcast comes with added Bunce otherwise I'd really enjoy it, Costello is one of the good guys.

Pulev offered even less than I thought, and I wasn't expecting much.

Yeah. I was expecting a better jab of him. He was majorly feinting, doing nothing. Took a lot of punishment. Scored some good right hands and that's it.

I think Pulev was concussed and acting like he could still fight. He was in his face and AJ looked very uncomfortable. I thought it was a poor showing by security as at one point it looked like it could kick off again.

Pulev was just clowning around like before the fight, I'd say.

He acted like a right knob , especially after such a poor showing in the ring .

Fellas don't worry about Joshua not screaming Fury's name to the rooftops , its not his style, he does however have a track record of fighting the best, if there's any issues here i see it coming from Fury's side, im quietly confident though

Before it was a toss up between Wilder and AJ for the #2 HW spot, but after the dominant win, AJ has firmly confirmed his #2 spot now.

Wilder would have probably KO’d Pulev as well.

It seems like Wilder and Whyte are completely irrelevant at the moment.

Whyte needs to wait for the Povetkin rematch. That would have already happened by no.

Maybe but he'd have to prove it. Pulev's record>Ortiz's record.

AJ was saying “don’t touch me don’t touch me” to Pulev with a serious look about him - totally different vibe to the pantomime weigh in.
Security as always at boxing are just untrained, not switched on, slow lumps.

Can you imagine the chaos of a Fury Joshua presser or weigh in or ring walk. Man we’re in for a fun week when they fight. :yay:

Wilder would blast Aj and Pulev out in
5 rounds combined.
