Wilder would be too tired to beat either from wearing a robe to the ring and he may not be 100% after having his water spiked by his trainer. Also depends on wether the commission finds the egg weights in Pulev or AJ’s gloves, whether the ref is biased and whether the corner throw the towel in without reason.
The only Wilder is blasting now is his reputation.
Pulev showed a good chin last night with some of the shots he took. I think the Pulev of last night would have given Wilder a tough fight.

Pulev has always been average, he’s stepped up twice and been badly ko’d both times. He’s just slightly better than most of the rest of the chasing pack.

This was the best part of the fight..
Change my mind.

Pulev's a solid fighter. The two losses were against an exceptional world champion and a very good world champion, so if you're going to lose, it might as well be against Vlad and Joshua.
Somewhere along the way Pulev lost the plot each time and didn't do himself justice, but that's life, you have to take opportunities when they come along.

He has also earned a good living out of it, for a never champion.

Coincidentally I was returning a hire car on Saturday afternoon and the guy at the company was Bulgarian.
He was obviously rooting for Pulev, but didn't think he would win.
What he did say was Pulev is not just the biggest boxing star in Bulgaria, but the biggest sporting star in Bulgaria. So, yes, Pulev has clearly made a major impact in his home country.

Pulev would be blasted out by Wilder. He's perfect for him.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2020, 12:14Wilder would be too tired to beat either from wearing a robe to the ring and he may not be 100% after having his water spiked by his trainer. X2. I’m honestly a bit confused by people saying what a tough guy Pulev is, he’s only really fought 2 big punchers and has been left splattered on the canvas by both of them. Wilder would destroy him, he leaves his chin way too open. Pulev takes a shot slightly better than the average heavyweight, but that’s it really.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Dec 2020, 18:35Pulev would be blasted out by Wilder. Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev - 12 December 2020
Pulev's defence is poor, minimal real head movement and his gloves are always miles apart.
He gets away with it against second rate opponents, as he can establish the jab and keep them occupied with it. Against Wlad and AJ he couldn't get the jab going and was caught with clean power shots numerous times.
At one point last night Joshua landed about 5 right uppercuts in a row and Pulev had no answer for it at all, except to act a bit of a tit after hauling himself off the canvas.

Frostieballs, I barely have a clue about Bulgarian sportsman. I seem to recall some weight lifters from past Olympics and an amateur flyweight Hristov (don't quote me), but this Bulgarian chap seemed to think Pulev topped the charts there.

He definitely will be. I was joking about Stoichkov; he was a footballer from the nineties who was a bit of a dandy!

Yeah.
Pulev's funny fella. He was clowining around after Wlad decked him. He was doing it again, when Joshua was battering him.
Always be positive, no matter what.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev - 12 December 2020
I have, but I have also seen the Chisora fight and that Pulev was much better than this.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev - 12 December 2020
Yeah I remember that standing on one leg business against wlad. Not as funny as laughing in Chisora's face when Chisora raised his hands at the end of he fight.
