Is Eddie Hearn to blame for YouTube boxing ??
Not for starting it but for giving these wank stains a platform to grow ?
I really hate these talentless narcissists and how they’ve all jumped on the boxing bandwagon. Why can’t they challenge each other to something else ... like snooker ??

If he didn't do it someone else would have when KSI and Paul started it. Its not that different from Mayweather vs McGregor really. He saw the money signs and jumped on it.
I don't know whether other people would have had these cross over shows with YouTubers and legitimate professional fights on there together aswell though.
I honestly wouldn't care less if these guys fought on their own exhibition shows as amateur matchups but the fact they're getting wins on a professional record and headlining over legitimate fights is ridiculous. I mean, we've always wanted to know if one guy could knockout another whether it be those in entertainment, athletes or whoever else but they just shouldn't be given a short cut to step over the career of people who take it seriously.

Nah, just jumped on it. It definitely has a shelf life and I think thats why Hearn is saying he doesn't want more of it. I think even the followers of these people will eventually say "oh they are just shit" and switch off eventually.
I must say - I preferred KSI vs Logan Paul over Tyson vs Jones - at least it was a definite fight and they were two evenly matched novices. Yes off course shouldn't have been main event and there shouldn't have been a charge - but there were a lot worse fights, a lot less even fights and okay the standard wasn't great, but probably a better than most novice amateurs.

Don't like. Don't watch. Hand on heart I still couldn't pick any of the YouTubers out of a line up. I'm out of their target demographic and do not pay attention.
I even clicked on this topic thinking it was going to be about IFL and similar channels.

Agreed. The bubble will burst in 18 months. What it shows for me is how poorly boxing has been managed and promoted in the US when there’s more demand for YouTube fights or exhibitions. When Tyson vs Jones gets in excess of 1.5m PPV buys when the Fury vs Wilder rematch is only getting 0.8m buys is crazy and the other PPVs (Spence vs Garcia, Gervonta Davis vs LSC, Charlo combo) struggle to get 0.2m buys its shows there’s something really wrong with the sport.stujones wrote: ↑15 Dec 2020, 11:12 Nah, just jumped on it. Nah he was as sceptical as the rest of us before KSI against Weller but seeing the attention and money they made he very quickly jumped on the bandwagon.

It was Spencer Oliver and Max Branning.

My worry is that someone is going to get seriously hurt & boxing as a sport is going to get the blame.
However it says a lot about our sport that they can outdraw meaningful title fights, often by a considerable margin. It also doesn't seem that the younger market just tuning in for these celebrity fights are being drawn into watching other boxing.

The issue is when they’re clogging up the undercard of a fight I want to see.
Eddie gave them the platform for Logan Paul KSI which was the biggest yet.
I agree though it shines a light on how badly boxing in the USA is promoted that those muppets get more buys.
Hopefully in their night fight there’s a brutal double KO.

It doesn’t say anything about our sport. They are a completely different market. They’d get the same amount of viewers if they had a penalty shootout or played darts.moogie101 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2020, 15:16 My worry is that someone is going to get seriously hurt & boxing as a sport is going to get the blame.

Of course they aren't. Why would youngsters be interested in boxing in 2020? Most traditional sports will fizzle out of favour as those born pre-1990(ish) die off. Sport is old hat.
Re: Is Eddie Hearn to blame for YouTube boxing ??
i have to admit i wasnt against the mcgregor v mayweather fight i thought just an exhibtion one off , though some were dead against it, iam now starting to think they were right it is a bit worrying for boxing if there is more money in some youtube geezer wanting to fight some pro boxer or mma fighter, as money dictates fights, so if pro boxers starting deflecting away wanting to fight a nothing fight for millions instead of a world title fight it is very worrying for the sport
