John : did you prefer same day weigh-ins or day before weigh-ins ? Also, how much weight did you usually gain between weighing in and entering the ring ?

Sorry I didnt see this post until just now.
A fighter who has trouble making weight is ALWAYS going to want that night before weigh in.
I remember one fight where I went from 174 to 193 in 2 days. S THEY STRUGGLEDE TO GET IT OFF.
Generally speaking, when someone gains a large amount of weight between the weigh in and the fight it means that they struggled to get that weight off
A fighter who has trouble making weight is ALWAYS going to want that night before weigh in.

Some guys here don't think a guy who weighs 184 the day before a fight without any weight draining could possibly get to 175 for the fight lol

of course, dudes train down then drain, like joe smith getting down to a ripped 190 then draining to 175 to make weight... or munguia doing 21 pounds in 1 day...basic stuff everyone should know but doesn't
