Ilya Shakirov - 19 year old won Boxer of the tournament at the Russian National Championships.

Semi Final vs the equally talented 20 year old Ilya Popov. Popov showed beautiful skills to win the first round, but Shakirov came back to win the next 2 rounds. initially i the judges gave the victory to I Popov but after considering the protest, the result was changed. Shakirov is in red, Popov in blue.




despite 'losing' on paper in the final against Gabil Mamedov ^ shakirov clearly dominated all three rounds.

The russian federation made up for the robbery by Awarding the very strong and talented for his age Shakirov ' boxer of the tournament..

I love to follow pro prospects & I figured that's what Shakirov is. But after checking his record it's apparent Ilya does not even have any pro bouts scheduled!!
