Consensus scoring where at least 2 of the judges agree on who won the round made this fight 114-114

I watched it again and scored it 8-4 Rodriguez, but wouldn't argue with 9-3. To me, even 7-5 Rodriguez would be too close. A very bad decision.

This is beyond annoying and a prime example of how shameless and petty cross-promoting/broadcasting is lending a hand in the decline of the sport.

I just had the chance to catch up and watch this card.

Two thoughts:

1. Boots Ennis is ready for legit competition and I hope badly we see him fight a top ten welter next year if not top 5.

2. Thought the ballyhoo on the Showtime broadcast over the scorecards in the Gaballo fight was a bit overblown. I had it 116-113 for Gaballo. A very close fight with a lot of 50/50 rounds that I tipped for Gaballo due to his activity and the fact that he was the effective aggressor. I think he was not given nearly enough credit by the broadcast for quality shots being landed. That loss is on Rodriguez for giving away the 12th round. He wins that round and he flips the 115-113 card to a draw and walks out with a split draw instead of a SD loss. He’s been around long enough to know that you can’t count on anything from the scorecards.

That being said I thought the main event was a really good fight, and I’ll be watching if they do it again.
