Re: wlad got inducted to the hof
Sonny Liston made one successful title defense and got in. Maxie and Ingo couldn't even manage that and got in.

Nah, wlad isn't undeserving like his woeful brother. He should have had to wait, but nothing to cause the bitching you're hunting for.
Re: wlad got inducted to the hof
No surprise there
Re: wlad got inducted to the hof
I really can't see any objection.

Re: wlad got inducted to the hof
All are deserving.
But Im disappointed that once again Santos Laciar, Wilfredo Vazquez Sr., Jose Luis Ramirez, Alfredo Escalera, Rodrigo Valdez, Samuel Serrano, Carlos De Leon, Juan Martin Coggi, Jiro Watanabe, Gilberto Roman, Marvin Johnson, Genaro Hernandez and a few others have been overlooked. They all deserve it as well.
Im starting to think maybe Ed Brophy deserves to get in as well for his years servicing boxing through the Hall of Fame.
And I am glad to see George Kimball get in. I have a book signed by him to me. A true gentleman!

Wlad deserves it for 100%. How on earth it can be arguable?

Lots of haters that's why they argue. But if excitement in every fight was the requirement, then Muhammad Ali, Macho Camacho, Mayweather and Maxie Rosembloom would all be out. And it would be called "International Hall of Exciting Boxers" instead.

Also, once again, Betulio Gonzalez gets overlooked. This guy should be in all the way. A lot of the champs I mentioned are hated by the writers because of a myriad of reasons like fighting the boxers their organization told them to, not fighting enough in the US and dumb stuff like that.
These boxers were great fighters and circumstances dictate a fighters career some, if not most of, the time. It would be like denying a 3,000 hits batter entry into the baseball hall of fame because he was made to face what the writers perceive as weaker pitching, recently injured pitchers and weak record teams most of the time. But that batter could only face the pitchers who pitched versus him!

Re: wlad got inducted to the hof
That's fair enough. Surely wasn't his fault though. Fighting in a weak era. To say he was woeful is just fighter bashing.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑17 Dec 2020, 01:13No resumeTrent wrote: ↑17 Dec 2020, 00:11Whats wrong with Vitali?Onetimeonly wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020, 12:35 Nah, wlad isn't undeserving like his woeful brother. He fought weak fighters of his weak era. So, yes, it was his fault.

How could that be his fault? He could only fight what is in front of him.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑22 Dec 2020, 13:06He fought weak fighters of his weak era. So, yes, it was his fault.
