Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Callum Smith - December 19, 2020
exactly. again i like canelo as a fighter a lot, i'd like him even more... whatever.
but you really need glasses if you saw canelo make gennadyi 'wilt on occasion' and 'blunt' his 'aggression'.
nelo has an iron cast chin and is capable of excellent counterpunching. golovkin didn't as much as 'blink occasionaly' when he ate the mexican's best shots, gesturing to canelo to open up more & further engage. he had him on the backfoot for 12 rounds, constantly applying pressure, stalking him around the ring and not taking a step back for more than to take a breather, regroup and rightaway start another attack.
canelo showed a masterclass in elusiveness. golovkin in controlled constant aggression. maneuvered expertly around the ring circling away from golovkin, trying his best not to get cut off or pinned against the ropes occasionaly taking a stand and engage in masterful counterpunching.
GOLOVKIN DIDN'T AS MUCH AS FLINCH getting hit with canelos best punches, except you are an idiot and count shaking your head and denying your opponents power, gesturing him to bring it on as a sign of 'being hurt'.
yet when canelo 'occasionaly' tasted ggg's power he was visibly rattled a couple of times made 'wilt' on occasion and often 'blunted' his momentarily aggression, choosing disengagement over further exchange of damaging blows over and over over the course of the fight.

Canelo goes to the body and it's over.

lol apparently you didnt see GGG get hurt to the body in the Derev fight either. it's ok mate, lot's of casual fans miss important stuff in fightscaldo2025 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2020, 23:02You’re high. GGG has never been hurt inside the ring by any punch.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑18 Dec 2020, 20:06His body punching was enough to visibly make GGG wilt on occasions and really blunt his aggression compared to his usual style. If he’s good enough to do that with GGG I think he’s good enough to fold Smith, notwithstanding the size difference.adislav123 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2020, 13:26 toney would beat canelo, i'm not saying easily but definitely.
my question to the experts on here is which fighters apart from a fragile fielding did canelo 'broke down to the body'?
what earned him that fearsome reputation of 'notorious bodysnatcher' that so many experts guids into believing he will exactly do this to smith, a rock solid, huge supermiddle who perfectly shields his midsection with his extra long arms, whom i don't recall ever being seriously hurt by a bodyshot?

Smith can knock him out in a brutal manner. His left hook is deadly. Canelo has no power for these weights. Smith is way bigger than him, prime and got decent boxing skills. Too much this time. 60 to 40 I'd go for Smith.

Alvarez has never been knocked out by anyone including GGG who is a much much more devastating puncher than Callum Smith.AlexCayWalt wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020, 13:24 Smith can knock him out in a brutal manner. Do you seriously believe Smith can knock out Canelo when he could not stop 5’ 9” John Ryder?
Here’s the last three guys Smith knocked out:
1. Hassan N’Jikam - knocked out two fights earlier by Murata. Edit: he was also 35.
2. George Groves - had been knocked out twice by Froch. A really fun and good fighter but past his prime against Smith and a little shot by that time if we’re all being honest. I admit this is the only impressive knockout on Smith’s resume.
3. Luke Blackledge - A journeyman knocked out eight times before Smith fought him. If Canelo fought this guy it would be a joke.
Predict that Canelo loses the first three rounds and dominates from there on solid body work and counterpunching. Will set up a knockout in the 8-10th rounds. Wins 116-112 or 117-111 without ever being in danger if he doesn’t land the big one.

I considered that and Smith, then I bet on Alabama.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020, 14:23 Considering a Hail Mary bet on canelo stoppage at evens odds, someone change my mind
Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Callum Smith - December 19, 2020
My last thought. Canelo 116-112 Smith. Smith will bring on his jab and long distance fighting in first rounds, then Canelo will cut the distance, and wil counter effectively. Canelo will avoid Smith hooks and uppercuts and land hooks his own. Canelo will school Smith for whole fight until last rounds. Smith will bring effective agression which will help him won championship rounds, but Canelo slick defense will help him to look good and win the fight

end of round 6. huuuge body bomb by derev! looked less damaging than it actually was. casuals couldve missed that easily. ggg was practically finished! hopped backwards out of the dangerzone, derev right behind him, they tangled up with the ref.
i think ggg wanted to take a knee, he was hurting a lot from that bodyshot, he didn't show it. think he was ready for a 'no mas' right that moment. saved by the belll! lucky gennadyi!

It’s true what you’re saying. If you were already watching a stream, most likely you’re gonna find another one somewhere.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Dec 2020, 07:40 no chance they woulda lost anything close to 500k , dudes woulda just found another stream
But these people don’t see it that way.
Remember this guy..
https://metro.co.uk/2018/01/07/boxing-f ... k-7210438/
More than 4,000 watched his stream and they fined him £85k.. but then again there was over 400k people all over FB watching an illegal stream. Only thing is, this one got caught.
Re: Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Callum Smith - December 19, 2020
I've never streamed a fight I would have paid for if streams didn't exist. I suspect in the overwhelming majority of cases that applies to others too.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Dec 2020, 07:40 no chance they woulda lost anything close to 500k , dudes woulda just found another stream
I am a DAZN subscriber.
I do not subscribe to BT or Sky as they do not offer value to me. There is no fight that could possibly be made that would make me subscribe at their current rates.

Dev gave GGG a good fight and landed some good body shots that GGG felt, you could even say that he was hurt by them.
But to say he was on the verge of quitting is ridiculous.
