Kuzman went life and death with Joey dawejko not too long ago so nobody can really be confident backing him. He doesn't have the feet to get away from Bakole so there will be exchanges and Bakole will be taking punches. Kuzmin was beating Joe Joyce in 2013 before Bakole had even put on a pair of gloves I believe.

How good is Macaulay McGowan? He’s 10/1 against Conway who isn’t exactly a standout fighter, looks pretty big

He showed good durability in his kulakmet fight but in the interview below, done just over 2 weeks ago i think, he said the following

has a day job
plans on fighting at 147 from now on
plans on fighting in march 2020
says goal is to be champ at 147

An opportunity to fight at 154 came up and he took the fight on very short notice. He's a month on from taking a hiding in his last fight, at a weight division that he doesn't want to campaign at. Conway is a good fighter at this level. My only question is whether or not Conway stops him.

I think there’s a bit of value in Theophane points @ 6-1 in from 7’s.

I know he’s an old bastard now but he’s always been a decent boxer. It’s possible he could old man Eggo here. It’s a last hurrah for him I suppose.

Juan macias Montiel 13/8 to beat James Kirkland this weekend is value I think, Montiel showed decent skills vs Centeno last year and who knows how much Kirkland has left at his age.

Hironori Mishiro 11/4 Decision vs Masayuki Ito

Mishiro looked better at the weigh in, looked like the natural Lightweight, Ito has had several issues this year including surgery to remove his appendix, and is looking past Mishiro, talking about fighting Yoshino.

No, I just follow the Asian scene pretty intently.

TBF I had Ito taking the decision, very competitive and good fight

how good is jin sasaki bp

his record jumps out a bit for someone that young, though he's a bit heavier (esp at his age) then where you usually see japanese fighters have much success internationally

I like him, a lot, and he ticks a lot of boxes. Naturally very heavy handed, a brutal finisher, exciting, super young, oozes charisma and confidence. But very raw, very open and can certainly a work in progress. Hachioji Nakaya gym along with Asign are doing a very good job in building him, but a lot of areas to improve on.

He LOOKS like a star though... Or a star in the making, in how he carries himself, just needs to be given time and allowed to develop at domestic level.

Back in summer he was struggling to get domestic opponents, but well done to his handlers for getting him 3 fights this year

Some outside Japanese picks

Ioka to beat Tanaka by decision 11/5
Kobayashi to beat Higa by decision 10/1
(around 34/1 as a double on Bet365)

Despite what people may think Ioka IS the star, it's the promoter he's worked with in charge of the show (Dangan Aoki), TLA Rock and Sankyo are the show's main sponsors, he's the man with links to Tokyo, he's not had to travel from Nagoya to Tokyo [which was reported done by moto vehicle - over 350KM] and he's the key man for TBS boxing.

Tanaka might be more well known, and his achievements are more impressive in some ways, but in many ways that's down to his style, his tough match making, his pursuit of a legacy and the fantastic work of CBC in putting up live international streams of his fights.

As for the Kobayashi fight, he showed against Keita Kurihara that he has heart, determination and skill. He is the under-dog, he should be the under-dog, but not a 4/1 underdog to win, and definitely not a 10/1 under-dog for a decision. He's in the shape of his career and the best form he's ever been in. He was underwhelming last time out, but the loss against Kurihara and the win against Mananquil are solid results.

Also this ISN'T the Flyweight Higa. This is the Bantamweight Higa, the guy who fought to a (fortunate) draw with Seiya Tsutsumi. The guy who didn't know if he even wanted to be a boxer 8 months ago (admitting he had lost his desire following his win against Buenobra).

My worries here are that Kobayashi freezes up and that the judges side with Higa. But at 10/1, I'll take that risk.

Tanaka TO BE KNOCKED DOWN 3/1 (Betfair)
Tanaka has been down Vs Saludar, Palangpol and Gonzalez. He was wobbled Vs Taguchi, and possibly should have had a KD scored against him Vs Kimura. Ioka dropping him at some point wouldn't be a surprise.

All are outside shots, but worth a couple of quid

good shout, i am pretty sure that fight is going to points, so basically to me that's like 11/5 on ioka outright for a 50-50 fight

my official prediction is draw :OhYes:

I'm a massive outlier it seems, but Kurihara to stop Inoue pays 6/1 on Thursday. I might be over-rating Kurihara, especially given what Higa did to Kobayashi, but the guy can bang and is the naturally bigger fighter, full of confidence, nice run of form and if Inoue stands off he could be tagged, hurt and dropped.

Inoue was dropped Vs Oubaali, Saludar and Geraldo (I think - I know he's been down in 3 fights), switched off against Petch (Salapat), and was bullied at times by Oubaali. Masuda also took rounds from him. He's not his brother.

Kurihara has improved from his loss to the awkward Teshigawara (who himself is a world ranked contender - at 122lbs), and even managed to rock him in round 3.

Certainly looks to be the value bet for me.

Disappointed no one is carrying a "fighter to get dropped" market here though....
