Just watched Carnera knock out Campolo via Youtube. Nov.27, 1931 at MSG. Carnera was 6' 5 1/2" and Campolo was 6' 6 1/2" but weighed considerably less. There is some controversy over their respective reaches. Campolo is said to have had an advantage in height and reach over Da Preem. According to news reports prior to the fight Campolo's reach is listed at 82" and Carnera's is 80". In later years Carnera's reach becomes 85 or 86 inches. This sounds like the work of Owney Madden's press agents who would have influenced Nat Fleischer of The Ring Magazine.
