Yeah Andrade definitely represents a major stylistic challenge for Golovkin.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Dec 2020, 21:45 as much as i detest andrades style and career so far, i think he's all wrong for ggg at this point and would beat him

Munguia plays right into Golovkin's hands. Or at least he should.

mung is still raw defensively and lacks the jab of ggg, but offensively he's an explosive fighter with fast combinations and every power punch in the book, and is a lot fresher than ggg, i think he's bound to at least land some heavy leather
Re: Gennady Golovkin vs. Jaime Munguia - TBA
Oh for sure. He won't go down without a fight.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Dec 2020, 22:00 mung is still raw defensively and lacks the jab of ggg, but offensively he's an explosive fighter with fast combinations and every power punch in the book, and is a lot fresher than ggg, i think he's bound to at least land some heavy leather

Landing punches on GGG has never been a problem for anyone.gilgamesh wrote: ↑29 Dec 2020, 22:05Oh for sure. Hitting GGG without getting hit is the problem for everyone.
I hope Mung vs GGG happens.
All but certain to be a fun fight, a fight GGG will win by stoppage and would be one of his best wins.
Munguia is sgnificantly younger(14 years)undefeated and a former title holder who vacated his belt to move up a division.
Beating that guy is a big win on the resume of any veteran boxer.
Somebody will try to say Munguia is just another blown up super welter. I'm not sold on that........ I think Munguia is a young man who grew out of that division and is a legit middleweight.
Along with that GGG is past his best but not a spent bullet. There is a difference.
Youngster on the rise vs aging vet: almost always an interesting match up.

Even at 154 Munguia was weighing in nearly 180 on fight nights, he's no smaller than ggg for sure

With GGG on the fade, it makes sense to pick good stylistic match-ups. This fight is both Fan and GGG friendly.

I've already addressed this post in another thread.
Can you not read?
For some reason you really don't like Golovkin, and want to cut him down as if he's never accomplished anything. I don't know what your beef is with him, but it's ridiculous.
Nobody ever said he was the greatest Middleweight of all time, but he ain't just some bum either.
And can you also count to ten?
If so, I’ll try and keep things simple for you, by focussing on just one the incorrect claims.
The following fighters were rated above Curtis Stevens by The RING during 2013:
1) Sergio Martinez
2) Gennady Golovkin
3) Darren Barker
4) Daniel Geale
5) Felix Sturm
6) Peter Quillin
7) Martin Murray
8) Matthew Macklin
9) Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam
10) Marco Antonio Rubio
Here’s a hyperlink of the archived web page of The RING’s middleweight rankings extracted on the 15th October 2013, with GGG fighting Curtis Stevens on the 2nd November 2013.
Therefore, how on earth can Curtis Stevens possibly be considered by The RING as a top-ten world-rated middleweight when GGG fought him, when they believed that ten fighters were better than him?
Most of Apollo Creed’s ratings are wrong, either because he simply made a mistake, or he forget to consider The RING champion.
I bet you feel rather silly now, because the person you apparently despise has once gain proven you wrong. And it just keeps happening over-and-over again! It must really frustrate you!!!

GGG's fans are claiming that Curtis Stevens was a top-ten world-rated middleweight when he faced their hero, Gennadiy Golovkin, but he simply wasn't.
It's simple maths.

People pretended he was. And GGG's die-hard fans aggressively attacked me when I claimed he wasn't.
Either way, I'm right and they're wrong.
Curtis Stevens wasn't a top-ten world-rated middleweight when he faced GGG.

Re: Gennady Golovkin vs. Jaime Munguia - TBA
GGG beats the unproven Jaime Munguia with consummate ease, because the Mexican hasn't fought anybody of any note. And he's only accustomed to taking punches from a couple of feather-fisted middleweights and 154lb-ers.
However, assuming Eddie Hearn's plans come to fruition, with GGG facing Demetrius Andrade during the second half of 2021. In that case, I firmly believe that the American would be capable of dethroning a badly-faded iteration of the near forty-year old Gennadiy Golovkin via decision.
That said, I don't expect this scenario to happen, because GGG's main priority is to avoid taking any risks that could possibly scupper his chances of receiving a third mega-payday from a Canelo super-fight.
I wholeheartedly believe that history will repeat itself, because GGG previously renounced his WBO number one challenger status, by preferring to face the anonymous, unheralded and unaccomplished Steve Rolls, rather than challenging for Demetrius Andrade's title.
Simply put, it's an undeniable fact that Gennadiy Golovkin previously DUCKED his fellow DAZN stablemate, Demetrius Andrade!
And nothing has changed since then, so I don't expect GGG to take the Demetrius Andrade fight now, because it would be a terrible business decision for any "PRIZE fighter" in his position to make.

Martinez wasn’t ranked #1.. he was the champion. It says so.
The TBRB do the same..
They’ll have a champion, then name the top 10 ranked below the champion.
So technically and if you’re not blind enough to see. Curtis Stevens was ranked #10.
If that was the case, they would’ve only out the rank upto #9.

It’s simple maths.
If you want to claim he was 11th, then I’ll agree.
However, Curtis Stevens wasn’t considered a top-ten world-rated middleweight fighter by The RING, because they rated ten men above him.
The RING ratings listed the names of eleven men. And he was considered the bottom of the pile. So he was in 11th place.
Can you count the names of eleven men on ten fingers?
This is infant level maths.
You’re clearly a GGG fan, but you can’t allow your feelings or personal bias to ignore basic mathematics.
What’s 10 + 1?
Have we really regressed our debates to a level whereby people are adamantly claiming that 10 + 1 = 10?
FFS!!!

Yep Golovkin was always a smallish Middleweight too. A natural for the weight. That's why he's competed there his whole career. It's where he belongs.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Dec 2020, 22:45 Even at 154 Munguia was weighing in nearly 180 on fight nights, he's no smaller than ggg for sure![]()
