Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
Re: Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
Alvarado 77 - 73 after the 8th. Kriel is kind of getting back with fast sequences, just to hang on.
Re: Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
It looks like Kriel is landing more than Alvarado as the rounds go on. I can't actually count, mind, the punches are coming in too fast to keep tally

Oscar doing his Kalle impression on the front row
Re: Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
Stop telling Kriel to wake up in the corner, you fool. He's not asleep, he's concussed.

Stop the fight
Re: Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
Kriel’s coach is cruel.
He’s putting up an incredible fight just to hang in there and he keeps slapping him.
Wake up indeed !

Incredible courage by the South African, nice touch by the champion acknowledging that
Re: Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
Kriel is freakishly tough. And game.
Went on for too long though, it was clear he had nothing left to give.
Brave trainers yet again.

What a pressure by Alvarado, insane punching power also for a lightfly. Poor Kriel... now it is time for the gemelo Rene, another slayer.

Shame that DJ felt he needed to go up in weight, he looks like he must be a good fighter at his best weight

A brave, brave effort from Kriel after the bell saved him at the end of the 9th. I thought he might have a chance if Alvarado's punch rate fell in the later rounds but the power punches just kept landing round after round and he knocked all the fight out of Kriel in the end. Kriel couldn't have done anymore. He put up all the resistance that was humanly possible.

Loved the Felix Alvarado/DeeJay Kriel fight, pure war, Alvarado is ferocious when letting them bursts go, Kreil huge heart and grit to just about box his way back into things, Alvarado came out like a man possessed, Kriel was wide open for the left hook, dropped heavily in the 2nd in an exchange, actually got his own hook off first but Alvarado's was harder and put him down hard, another sweeping left hook had him down again in the 4th, fair play to Kriel though super fit and recovered well didnt mind hanging inside with Alvarado despite clearly being the smaller man and not having the power to hurt Alvarado
Alvarado switched off a bit though, whether it was fatigue or just looking for that big shot and it allowed Kriel to regroup and box well, he puts his shots together well, Alvarado hurt him again though in the 8th with a right and it probably should've been stopped by his corner before the 9th, Alvarado started finding the range for that right and he rocked Kriel onto the ropes and ref got in there bang on before Kriel got hurt

Kriel deserves immense credit.
Callum Smith take notice of how a fighter fights when he is there to win.
Re: Ryan García vs. Luke Campbell - 2 January 2021
Felix really wanted that overhand right. Bit of a clever tactic when you’re loading up, just throw a few wound-up body shots then a few wound-up uppercuts and you can go back to the overhands.
Kriel a tough kid. Lighter weights a fuckin great let’s all get behind them more often

Comms rightly slagging the WBA, the number of titles really is a nightmare.

Felt really bad for DJ - I think the very good commentators said that he vacated his world title to move up because the purse bids for his fight was something like $25,000… Jesus
