He’s just as fast and explosive as Garcia- at least- but a FAR better ring technician
Do you think that Tank has the boxing IQ?
Ohhhhhhh yes, to bang Garcia out and more. I’ll link you a video that shows what I mean better than I could explain it in a couple of days mate. Davis has PLENTY of ring craft and skill. Santa Cruz was landing tuppeny happeny stuff while getting broken down. After Davis realised he had to at least respect Leo’s skills he just calmly hunted him down. That KO punch isn’t a move you try unless you are COMPLETELY confident
Cheers. I'll take a look when you post it :TU:

Garcia a lot of the time to me looks like he doesnt actually have a full game plan and is just winging punches, and he's got some impressive offensive talents so it's been enough and will be enough vs most guys

That chin he leaves very vulnerable though, he stands straight up and doesnt move his head great. He's gotta really work on that to move his level up.
Yeah you could be right. It will definitely be bombs away regardless :OhYes:

Will be fun.
Garcia needs another southpaw fight before tank. He was good tonight, but too open to the strait left, and the left hooking into the belly, Let alone tanks uppercuts that will be mixed in with that..

Javier Fortuna would be a good fight, still high level, and great prep fight for tank, short sharp southpaw.

Yeah. That will be a hell of a fight when it happens. Two guys who can box but also have some serious power.

I'm grateful to Garcia for the stoppage, as I was just about to mute the feed.

Round after round, Garcia landing on gloves and elbows. Campbell landing clean return punches. Apparently those are clear rounds for Garcia.

Those punch stats were a joke too.

Easy cancellation of DAZN for me. Free month is one thing, but I'm not paying for that nonsense.
 it was a cracking card, £2 a month, call yourself a boxing fan, mute it ya stingey bastard ;-)
:D
£2 fair enough really. Mute might well be the way forward.

But I'm in Tokyo so it's closer to £8. Plus they don't tend to have much scheduled throughout the year over here. They even sold the rites to Joshua v Ruiz 2 onto a different Japanese broadcaster last time. So it's not really worth the money outside of the big months like this Dec-Jan.

And now they are going full swing in justifying shocking scorecards for their A-side. It reminded me of the ridiculous redub PBC released on Youtube of the Wilder v Fury 1 fight.

I'm sure I'll pay for a one off month in the future though. :D

Davis didn't look that good outside of the knockdown in the LSC fight, a fight he was barely winning

Think Davis is gonna have trouble with many elite level fighters beyond LW. Think that his elite level will be LW. Far too chunky for the speed, heavy hands and foot adjustments that he will need to respond to against the weight boilers that grind their naturally bigger frames down rather than those moving up. We will see. RG may have the same problems moving up but he still a babe and there will many around him advising and nurturing his precocious talent.

Still seems bizarre they've not been picking up cards from Japan, whilst the Asign and Real Boxing channels have been having success on YouTube and you have promoters like Kadoebi, Mutoh, Watanabe, Midori putting shows on Boxing Raise. Just bizarre they don't do a deal with a couple of B/C level domestic promoters for regular content

After all the hype; it was a bit of a let down to be fair.

The hype had both guys way above their real skill set I believe.

Garcia doesn't live with Lopez or Tank .. brutal and devastating KO.
And where was the Campbell who faced Linares and Loma??

Garcia's wild, fast aggression reminds me so much of a young de la Hoya.

People can slate Garcia all they want, Canelo, the P4P best in the sport leapt straight in the ring and wanted to embrace him and jump about with him. Irrespective of the fact they know each other to some degree that is very telling. You don't do that when you're the best unless you know you are with somebody with a huge future, a star in the making.

That Garcia is a bit vulnerable makes him even more exciting. Lopez and Tank will be chasing Garcia for fights, not the other way around. He will be the A side and the money man in that division, irrespective of who is holding the belts.

Garcia is good, but still needs to learn a lot. He has a good handspeed and can bang, but his head and feet movement looked poor.

Furthermore, Campbell appeared to be a good matchup for Garcia, as he was a smaller guy, who let an opponent work and relied only on countering.

So, Garcia worked and overwhelmed Campbell, who had been predisposed to taking shots instead of trying more. Still Garcia was decked.

It was a good experience for Garcia. Now he needs to go back to the gym and not to decrease his opposition level in the next fight.

Well, I don't know how being multicultural affects. Maybe it's just me, who roots for boxers without taking in account their origins. I even often don't root for my countrymen, if I like them less as boxers than their opponents.

Being cocky is ambiguous. In Garcia's case it's probably works against him. Cause it's ridiculous, when you're called a king and being carried in the ring, but then you get decked. Well, it will bring attention anyway, positive or negative.

Also, he's still overhyped.

Garcia is another Khan.

Fantastic up to a certain level - just not elite.
When you have other guys around his age and weight who would be big favourites to Ko him, then you know citing his age pointless and simply an excuse.

As for Canelo only congratulating him because he sees greatness .. no; he did so because their gym mates and very likely friends.

I don’t think Campbell was smaller.
Well, he is shorter, while Garcia is younger, Garcia probably cuts more weight.

It was a decent fight, I think we had seen the best from Campbell before this fight though, and more than likely the loss against Loma was his peak and that fight took a lot out of him.

He had his moment in the 3rd and then refused to fully commit- Considering what was coming he maybe should have just gone balls deep at that point.

He hung on in there but it was obvious that it was turning into a very hard nights work and the younger faster and harder hitting Garcia ended up being way too much for him.

Garcia looks good, very fast, hits deceptively hard but he's not seasoned enough yet to take on the elite fighters.

He does, you're right. That he'll appeal to the Hispanic community and the white community in America is important. Whatever people say, it makes a big difference over there. Unusually, it's his Spanish language he needs to work on.

Called this when the fight was made. Garcia’s body shots are killers. Campbell just didn’t look comfortable in there from the start however was a lovely shot to drop Garcia. Good effort but he was out classed.

Would Campbell have had more luck on the front foot? Didn't look right in there tonight, credit where it's due to Garcia though for coming back from a KD to win, he wanted to send a message tonight to all who call him a Instagram figther etc and he done that, but he still isn't my cup of tea

Tank would stick it all over him :box: Haney next?

Surprised to see 1 or 2 people slate the card, thought it was one of Golden Boys better ones top to bottom, looking back at the knockdown from Campbell in the 2nd, that was a hellacious shot, big punch reminded me of Frazier/Ali 1 although Campbell was obviously throwing from a southpaw stance, Garcia's powers.of recovery are pretty sound

I enjoyed that fight for the IBF light flyweight title between the South African (he looked tiny in there - moreso than usual...) and the Nicaraguan... Kriel had a Johnny Owen bustling style - loads of punches and loads of pressure but couldn't take the bigger punches off the (comparatively) bigger fellow... :salut:
