The long-term ramifications for the sport of boxing, due to so many COVID-19 lockdown restrictions being imposed, are inevitably going to be particularly dire in nature.
I don’t think people will notice the adverse implications just yet, but when furlough ends and the government tries to recoup funds from taxpayers to repay the national debt, then this will drastically affect boxing.
The COVID-19 situation will affect the sport in the long-term much more than there simply being less boxing being televised.
