Re: Manuel Charr vs. Trevor Bryan - January 29, 2021
I realise it’s not going to happen, but imagine if Anthony Joshua vacated his WBA title, the winner of the Charr-Bryan bout would be automatically elevated to become the WBA super world heavyweight champion!!!
By the time Charr faces Bryan:
• Mahmoud Charr would have been inactive for three years and two months (25th November 2017), but still retains ownership of the WBA’s regular world title
• Trevor Bryan would have been inactive for 2 ½ years (11th November 2018), but still retains ownership of the WBA’s interim world title
• For the record, Trevor Bryan earned his shot at the interim WBA strap by defeating two fighters with just FOUR WINS in 48 BOUTS between them
• Trevor Bryan captured the WBA's vacant interim title by beating BJ Flores, a former cruiserweight contender who was inactive for fourteen months, lost his previous bout at cruiserweight and then only managed to subsequently overcome two boxers with 26 losses between them
OMFG!!!

Not sure if this is the Best terrible card ever, or the worst good card ever.
Its tale of the inactivity. of the 6 boxers on the card so far, the average time out of the ring is over 2 years. yet somehow theres a Heavyweight and cruiser weight "world title" on the line... Ill try watch out of pure curiosity, but im expecting trash.

Why does the Charred remains of this guy keep getting exhumed by the WBA ? This was Trevor going to be a respectable fight

I'd be overjoyed if AJ vacates the WBA strap (he won't, but it would be good if he did!), because Gilberto Mondoza would be forced to abide by the rules and elevate the winner of the Charr-Bryan bout to gain WBA super world heavyweight champion status, which would completely ruin their prestigious title (if you consider the belts lineage):

Trevor bryan and charles martin could be 2 of the hw world title holders of the last 5 years
But we totally need that new division, how can small guys like wilder and usyk beat these large warriors?

It's ridiculous, how interesting this card is.
Will Bryan be exposed by a never-was Charr?
Will Lovejoy be exposed by old and rusty Stiverne?
This stuff can become either fun or woeful with about the same probability.

loverboi facing stiverne must be one of the biggest step ups in boxing history - from exclusively smashing in fetched from the street knockout dummies, not one with a positive record to facing a former (alphabet) "champ" in stiverne.
will it be one step to far up for loverboy?

After the main event, Fat Fres Oquendo will storm the ring and demand a sight.
It’s gonna be awesome!
It’s like a different universe.

Not so.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑07 Jan 2021, 07:56 If Anthony Joshua vacated his WBA title, the winner of the Charr-Bryan bout would be automatically elevated to become the WBA super world heavyweight champion!!!
To become a WBA super champion the boxer must hold another organizations belt (WBC, IBF or WBO).
The Charr v Bryan winner would just be the plain old ordinary champion and the super champion title would remain vacant.

They could have just said he’s the ONLY champion but no. WBA don’t even follow their own rules.

Wow. So now the WBA say it is possible to become a super champion due to special circumstances!Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Jan 2021, 16:02 But somehow, WBA have elevated Murata from Regular to Super.

I doubt Charr or Bryan would qualify
