Crawford vs Golovkin in 2021

Post by pound per pound »

At middle weight.

Who take it? This would be one of those rare fights worth paying for.

I don't think Golovkin is shot, but Crawford is certainly fresher, and I think he's good enough to negate the size advantage.

You guys throw around "he's shot" too easy.

There's an inbetween Prime and Shot ya know.

Golovkin is far from being shot, but the sweet science master Crawford still will deal with GGG.

Hypotheticaly, Crawford vs GGG, no weight limit, in lets say 10 weeks, What you think they are each weighing in at?

First let's see how Crawford would deal against a top welter! Anyway I think old Golovkin stops him in the later rounds. You forget that Golovkin has good boxing skills too and he's much more proven at the top level. Also the size advantage and the power jab of Golovkin would play a a major factor in this fight. :box:

Good fight, i think Golovkin is past it tbh but the size/power advantage is maybe enough to get him the win.

Golovkin's win over Canelo is starting to look like an all time great performance given how dominant Canelo has been since that first fight.

If they had a scheduled bout in 10 weeks, with no weight limit requirements, I think Golovkin would weigh in at 170,while Crawford would weigh in at 159.
At that point,they could have a re-weigh-in.
Just have Golovkin sweat out 2 lbs in a suana, and give Crawford a quart of Gatorade(2 Lbs).

We'd have ourselves a SuperMiddleweight Bout.
Golovkin at 168,Crawford at 161.

I'd love it if you were right.

I don't really figure Crawford would take him on as he doesn't really seem too keen on challenging himself, but it'd be an interesting fight for sure.

He might've been an underdog early on in his career when nobody knew who he was, but that'd be about it. He hasn't been an underdog since winning a title, and he won't be an underdog in the foreseeable future. Don't really know who you could match him with where he'd be an underdog to be honest.

Even if you matched him against GGG or Spence the odds would be 50/50 at worst.

Well. Don't hold your breath. It ain't happening anytime this year. When his contract with Arum is up if he signs with PBC maybe it'll happen. If he doesn't sign with PBC this time, he's basically admitting to the Boxing world that he doesn't truly want to be challenged.

You can and should expect it. There usually is at least 1 big mega fight once a year. Last year we had 2. We just don't get nearly enough of 'em.

He clearly doesn't. Why should he? He gets paid millions of dollars to take on fighters who pose him no threat. I wouldn't want it either in his shoes.

Of course. This sport doesn't love you back, and there's nothing any modern fighter could ever do to truly establish themselves as the greatest of all time so all that Legacy stuff isn't that big a deal really. Make as much money as you can, and call it a career.

You’re out of your mind if you think Crawford, who is a small welterweight and would be a small middleweight, could take GGG. No way Crawford could withstand constant fire coming back at him from GGG. No way Crawford knocks out GGG.
