Big Mak vs Joe Joyce?!

Post by oogiebe »

Boxing Scene:
Camille Estephan, promoter for undefeated heavyweight puncher Arslanbek Makhmudov (11-0, 11 KOs), would like to match his dangerous fighter against another big banger in the division, Olympic silver medal winner and EBU champion Joe Joyce.

I'm sure it's just talk, but I would pay to see that bangup.

After beating DuBois if I were Joyce's manager I wouldn't match him with any Prospects right now. I'd match him with Contenders who can advance him forward. Beating prospects isn't going to advance him forward, and it's just an unnecessary risk.

Whenever there are threads discussing top prospects, I always include Arslanbek Makhmudov’s name.

However, he’s only fought eleven guys. None of his opponents have been remotely impressive.

And let’s face it, Makhmudov has faced eleven guys that have failed to win a combined total of 77 bouts.

So I think really premature to mention Makhmudov’s name in the same sentence as Joe Joyce at the moment.

The Russian is a couple of years away from his inevitable arrival on the world scene.

I agree Oog. Makhmudov is just too raw for the likes of Joe Joyce right now.

Mak needs to face some living body before taking on the top of the division.

They just wanna push Mak to relevance with calling Joyce out.

Joyce is a contender and don't need this guy. Mak does.
