Weird move. He has no momentum which is criminal really given him beating Degale 2 years ago.
Not sure what Sauerland will be able to do for him but he needs to be fighting regularly which big Al hasn’t been able to do for him (similarly to many others).

Aye, he‘s been very quiet. Maybe they’ll get him back out now.

He’s been based in Vegas anyway.
Who are Sauerland gonna match him with?
What TV deals have they got? What can they do for him? Like really?

Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
I read earlier that this deal with see Eubank get a shot at the newly elevated WBA super champion at middleweight after Canelo recently relinquished that time.
Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
He's going to get a crack at Ryota
Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
That's a potential belter of a fight
Glad Eubank jnr has left Haymon. I think Haymon is starting to get found out that he's not able to deliver to extent some are lead to believe and in actual fact prevents some great fights from happening.

Always enjoy watching him, turns up in phenomenal shape and gives it a go. People praised Dave Allen for being tough and training on KFC, yet hate on Eubank, I wonder why?

Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
To be fair to Haymon, Eubank has been round the block with multiple promotors now and has a reputation as being difficult to deal with.
He’s in his 32nd year and despite all the chat still hasn’t won a world title, in a time when there have never been more opportunities to do so, and still doesn’t have a break out win. Too much bark and not enough bite

Eubank Jr a wasted talent but i think he would have always lost against the top fighters. I think he's probably past his peak now.

I kind of agree with what you’re saying about Eubank. He has been around the block with promoters but I still don’t really think Haymon gets his boxers fighting often enough. Gary Russell Jr is the one that always springs to mind.fizzjambo wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 04:30To be fair to Haymon, Eubank has been round the block with multiple promotors now and has a reputation as being difficult to deal with.

I saw an interview with Eubank Jr early November and he was saying that he’d been guaranteed a big fight in December/January.
I’m surprised Eubank Jr doesn’t sign with Matchroom to be honest. His sister’s engaged to Frank Smith and Senior has the history of working with Matchroom. They’ve also got plenty of boxers around his weight class too (Saunders, Smith, Golovkin, Andrade, Ryder) and he Eddie seems close to getting a short term deal with Canelo.
Will be interested to see if any broadcast deal gets announced today.

This will amount to a lot...
Why anyone would show any interest in CEJ is beyond me

Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
because no one said dave allen was more talented than and would beat the heavyweight equivalent of triple G
i dont think its him, or his performances that are unpopular. its his twat of a dad and his pathetic attention seeking ramblings, the fact he gets shots that more talented fighters dont cos of his name, and the instagram bullshit he indulges.
i was put off him when he put up a vid of bashing up a sparring partner
Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
He would have got battered when the fight was initally mooted but I wouldn't mind seeing him in with GGG at this point, has the makings of a fun fight

Yes Allen has a degree of humility. Eubank Snr and Jnr don’t. “Better than Mayweather” , “Knock our Golovkin”. In one sense such talk is the norm in boxing: a fighter and his team have to promote themselves.Steveh583 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 07:23because no one said dave allen was more talented than and would beat the heavyweight equivalent of triple G

But when you don’t or can’t back it up it, you will get a backlash.
I for one am a fan of Eubank Jr the boxer (not personality). He’s always in
Top shape, throws a gazalion punches and can punch a bit too. What’s not to like?
Sure he’s not top class due to his poor footwork but matched well I think he can pick up a version of a world title and it will be a fun ride.
Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
in the ring i have no probs with him, and he seems quite a respectful young man. but the watches, cars and flaunting of materialism i cant stand. someone should tell the youth that likes aren't self worthblack panther wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 08:20Yes Allen has a degree of humility. Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
Eubank is def one of my fav to watch, I don't think he is a bad guy either.
Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
Fair comment re Haymon, too many of his guys are inactive, although I don’t think he’s the cause of any of Eubanks issues tbh.maverick23 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 06:06I kind of agree with what you’re saying about Eubank. Jnr also lead Matchroom up the garden path a bit with Golovkin, prior to Brook having to step in. Or certainly Hearn was of that view at the time (for what that’s worth). I think most UL promotors now are Jnr and his team as more of a pain in the backside than they are worth.
He’s had a name to trade on and he’s made as much use of it as he can, I just don’t think he’s all that at top level and he’s never stepped up against any of the top guys.
Re: Eubank Jr - new promotion deal
You're right fizzjambo. It's wasn't Haymon's doing what went on before Eubank jnr signed with him, but it was going nowhere.
If that Ryota fight comes off in 2021 then Eubank jnr is fully vindicated parting with Haymon.
It's a very tough but winnable fight for Eubank jnr. It wont be easy going to Japan, but Jnr was very impressive handling the occasion when he destroyed Yildrim in Germany.

Rather than a crack at a meaningless world title Chris should insist that all roads lead to a rematch with BJS, undoubtedly the most lucrative fight out there for him as well as the most fun for fight fans
