GGG vs ODLH (Ring Magzine's boss)? Would Oscar last more rounds than Szeremeta?
How many rounds would Oscar last vs GGG?
Re: GGG vs ODLH (Ring Magzine's boss)? Would Oscar last more rounds than Szeremeta?
Depends on GGG.
If he doesn't want to see round two it won't get there.
If he's interested in going 4 or 5 that's how far it will go.

I don't think Golovkin would be in any hurry. It'd be like watching a Cat bat around a Mouse with a broken leg. It's over when The Cat decides it's over.

I wonder if they'd do an exhibition match and how it would go ? It sounds like plausible idea for big views.

Ggg carries oscar 4 rounds and oscar folds on a body shot

Re: GGG vs ODLH (Ring Magzine's boss)? Would Oscar last more rounds than Szeremeta?
De La Hoya and GGG aren't fighting each other.
It won't happen.
It's silly to even consider such a notion.
Oscar is almost a decade older than GGG.
He's also been inactive since 2008 and only won one contest within the previous fifteen years.
Whilst competing at welterweight, Oscar suffered an embarrassingly one-sided stoppage defeat to a super-featherweight during his most recent outing (with his opponent having only previously engaged in one lightweight contest).
80% of De La Hoya's bouts were fought at 147lbs and below. And one could easily argue that 135lbs was his natural habitat, since that was the weight division he dominated his opponents the most.
Oscar was also beaten during the only two middleweight bouts he competed in (i.e. he was wrongly awarded the victory in the Felix Sturm robbery and was also stopped by Bernard Hopkins).

ODLH would stand no chance against Szeremeta, let alone GGG.

Is this a cryptic reference to Manny? You can just say he got pounded by Manny we know that fight.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑11 Jan 2021, 02:06.

Agree with your other sentiments that this (as a non-exhibition) is a total joke.
My short answer to the thread is no. No he does not last longer than Szeremeta.

It seemed important to note that De La Hoya was destroyed by a much smaller opponent, in reality only a 130lb-er, 12 years ago.
And people are discussing Oscar’s chances against a 160lb-er that’s almost a decade younger than himself. That’ll also enter the ring weighing roughly 175lbs come fight night.
The size discrepancy between the 2008 iteration of Manny Pacquiao and today’s version of GGG is enormous!
And it’s not as if there’s a massive gulf between the pugilistic talents of Manny and Gennadiy either.
De La Hoya loses to all the top-50 middleweights competing today.
The fight will last as long as GGG allows it.
To avoid criticism and outrage for this bout being a hideously obscene mismatch and a blatant money-grab, Golovkin will inevitably carry Oscar in the same way he carried Kell Brook, much akin to how Money May carried Conor McGregor.
GGG will definitely try his utmost to ensure the fight lasts at least three rounds. So he’ll be pulling his punches to avoid hurting his appallingly over-matched foe.
To be honest, the topic of this thread is silly and unrealistic.
And if it wasn’t for Oscar’s recent comments to the media, I would have ignored this thread.

I have the feeling that it would be made as an exhibition match.gilgamesh wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 19:42if it's an exhibition match I'd have no interest. I have the feeling that it was another Oscar Cocaine/Alcohol binge, and he was talking out of his ass. He seems to tweet something like that around every major Holiday...almost certainly while under the influence.apollo creed wrote: ↑12 Jan 2021, 11:05I have the feeling that it would be made as an exhibition match.gilgamesh wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 19:42if it's an exhibition match I'd have no interest. Re: GGG vs ODLH (Ring Magzine's boss)? Would Oscar last more rounds than Szeremeta?
A few things to consider. ODLH says that he is in the best shape of his life. Lets for arguements sake take that as true.
People grow all their life so perhaps ODLH is now a legitimate jrmw. If we meassure ODLH's performance vs Hopkins and add a few natural pounds to ODLH then ODLH still gets knocked out but perhaps in the 11th instead of the 9th.
So then we meassure GGG vs BHOP and Bhop had more strength and size and GGG is more skilled.
Conclusion depending on this very iffy first statement GGG Ko9.

dlh was a natural 135er.
he is 100% shot, drugged & juiced out of his mind for over a decade now.
the iteration of oscar that clearly lost to sturm would jump his bycicle the moment ggg lands anything of note which would've been instantly.
the beatdown would last maybe a couple of rounds until oscar gets brutally knocked out or gets saved by ref or his corner from that inevitable destiny.
current oscar wouldn't be able to take a single power shot from ggg.
instant knock out whenever ggg chooses to pull the trigger.
