The fantasy fight - current Tyson Fury vs. Larry Holmes (1982) ?
What do you think about this fantasy fight ?
I noticed that both of them are underrated and overrated in the same time (on this forum, and generally speaking).

Yeah, I got it wrong. I füçkèd up. It happens and at least I admitted it.
I thought he meant the 1982 version of Tyson versus Holmes.
Holmes still gets battered by Tyson Fury though.
Size matters.
A 217lbs version of Larry Holmes is far too small to face a 273lbs version of Tyson Fury.
Duplicate thread.

Let me see if Tyson Fury continues to perform at a high level throughout his career. As of now it's hard to pick him over anybody I'd consider to be one of the best of the best, but he may well prove himself worthy of being considered to beat one of those types when it's all said and done.

The height advantage for Fury concerns me more than the weight; Fury by decision.

After the way he recently dominated the great Roy Jones jr, I'd have to favour Tyson

Gotta go Holmes.
Re: The fantasy fight - current Tyson Fury vs. Larry Holmes (1982) ?
Fury still has something to prove, but he definitely has the potential to be seen as a match for Holmes. If to take that version of Holmes to the current day, Holmes will be favored, which is already reflected in the poll, but I'd pick the underdog here.
Re: The fantasy fight - current Tyson Fury vs. Larry Holmes (1982) ?
people talk about tysons height and forget that the boy can move and box for 12 rounds that is un heard of, larry would of been huffing puffing by the 4th , fury aint no cooney
Re: The fantasy fight - current Tyson Fury vs. Larry Holmes (1982) ?
Fury can certainly box but his height amplifies his boxing. If he were 6'4" with the exact same boxing ability Holmes would eat him alive.
Re: The fantasy fight - current Tyson Fury vs. Larry Holmes (1982) ?
but he isnt 6ft 4 i mean your turning it in to , to much of a fantasy fight , and if holmes had one leg fury would dance squares around him

- At least the OP has the decency to define the timelines.
Tubby Lar who was still skinny in 1982 was behind in the scoring until the three Cooney low blow deductions as he fatigued. He would've been KOed previous vs Snipes after the KD that lurched him face first into the turnbuckle for the 2nd KD on that single Snipes punch.
He's 0-6 in title fights vs standing Titlists having won their title in the ring. Only a single belt holder in a multi belt era.
Fury prob is no defenses, but a 2-0-1 record vs standing champs.
Holmes ducks him like he did all the WBA champs, so we won't have a fight!
Nice try by the OP though. Coulda, woulda, shoulda but for Lar recalcitrance
