I had it 115-112 Derevyanchenko

Yes indeed Golovkin was lucky to get that one. Best performance I've seen any of Golovkin's opponents give.
Derevyanchenko is unfortunate in that he seems to be a really good fighter, but he lacks pop, and lacks name recognition so close fights would often go against him I'll bet.
Note: The * indicates a particularly close round that could swing either way.

i had it the same except gave ggg 11 and 12 so had him winning , tbh i thought he rebounded well after the torrid 10th, surprised you don't even have those as swing rounds!
ggg lost canelo 2 and dj though

I just rewatched Golovkin vs Canelo 2 again recently, and saw it as a pretty clear Golovkin win.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Jan 2021, 19:22 i had it the same except gave ggg 11 and 12 so had him winning , tbh i thought he rebounded well after the torrid 10th, surprised you don't even have those as swing rounds!

The Daniel Jacobs fight was closer than either Canelo fight to me, and I had Golovkin winning that one by a narrow margin. I wanna say either 115-112 or 114-113. That was one night before I had to go to the Hospital for a 4 day stay due to an illness so I was feeling a little off that night watching that fight, but I watched it.
Interesting you had the last 2 rounds for Golovkin as that would've swung the fight his way on my card, but I didn't see 'em that way.
Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
I thought Derevyanchenko won . Imo, it's the only fight that GGG didn't win.
Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
I also had Derev winning there.

Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
I had Derevyanchenko winning 114-113, the only fight I had GGG losing. Considering the KD, it wasn't a scandal that it went to Golovkin. Jacobs fight I've scored 114-113 (imo closer to 115-112 GGG than to 114-113 for Jacobs) for GGG, Canelo I 116-112 for GGG, and Canelo II 115-113 for GGG (draw was acceptable).
Derevyanchenko is a monster, very skilled and explosive fighter, no shame in losing that one. Derevyanchenko vs Jacobs could go either way as well.
Middleweight during that time was a very strong division, especially compared to division below and above it. It was a very competetive division during the 2017-2019, we had a lot of close, good fights. What a shame that GGG never went to SMW.

Well I agree that GGG looked bad and hurt in that fight but also he scored a KD and he marked Chenko's face. That fight should've been a SD for GGG or a draw.
Also people forgot that G was 37 y/o, came after two tough battles with Canelo and he also changed his trainer.
Should GGG give Chenko a rematch ? Tbh I wouldn't mind to see it.

Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko

GGG did land better head punches. Maybe the judges scored that better than Chenko's body shots to GGG.
Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
Golovkin marked up Derevyanchenko's face more yeah. But he seemed to get outlanded in almost every round of the fight to the head and body.
With him scoring the knockdown it's not like it's a robbery to give it to Golovkin, I just didn't think he won.
Should he give him a rematch is an interesting question. For the sake of sport yes there should've been an immediate rematch. However for his career interests given that he's near the top of the sport, and trying to maximize his profits before he retires then hell no he shouldn't. It's a dangerous fight obviously, and one that won't make him much money. So if I were his manager I'd definitely leave well enough alone and stay far, far away from Derevyanchenko, which I'm sure is the plan for Golovkin's team already.

Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
ESPN claimed that Derevyanchenko was offered a career-high purse of $5.5m to take the Canelo fight, but the Ukrainian's side wanted $7m.
You'll probably also conveniently forget the fact that Canelo defeated Danny Jacobs, six months after the American had previously beat Derevyanchenko.
Even though you now know the truth of the situation, you'll probably continue pretending that Canelo ducked Derevyanchenko.
But what do I know? Since it seems that everyone feels that personal opinions are far more important than real-world facts.

CBS Sports stated that Derevyanchenko's purse guarantee for the Golovkin bout was $4m, but was ultimately likely to receive a minimum of $5.2m.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 11:45Derev took $5.5m to fight GGG didn't he?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 11:40ESPN claimed that Derevyanchenko was offered a career-high purse of $5.5m to take the Canelo fight, but the Ukrainian's side wanted $7m.

And in reality, Derevyanchenko had been avoided by GGG beforehand (when Golovkin flatly-refused to consider facing his mandatory challenger, preferring instead to vacate his IBF strap to fight the appalling Vanes Martirosyan),
So when Sergiy declined the $5.5m purse offer from GBP to face Canelo, he couldn't have known for certain that he' be fighting Gennadiy next.
To be fair, why on earth did Derevyanchenko feel he was worth $7m to Canelo and DAZN, especially considering he’d previously tasted defeat against a man (Danny Jacobs) that Alvarez had beaten three months prior to their contract negotiations, which took place during July 2019?
But what do I know? Everyone will continue to ignore facts, by pretending that Canelo "ducked" Derevyanchenko.

Canelo never ducked anyone. He avoided GGG for a period of time but he fought him twice
The man has the best resume in boxing outside of Pacquiao
Some dubious scorecards have went his way
Hes made some A side demands that some see as diva like
He popped hot for clen
But you dont duck derevyanchenko only to fight smith, kovalev GGG and Jacobs. Hell he fought trout and lara when they brought nothing but trouble to the table

Funny canelo says he's fighting Yilidirim? cuz he's a mandatory, but when Derevy was a mandatory he dumped the belt faster than you can say Riddick Bowe.

Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
GGG refused to consider performing a mandatory defence against Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Instead, he chose to vacate his IBF strap in preference to fighting the appalling Vanes Martirosyan.
Canelo was stripped of his IBF title, because he failed to meet their specified deadlines, due to Sergiy Derevyanchenko wanting to be paid $7m and wouldn't accept the career-high $5.5m purse offer he received from GBP.
The Canelo-Derevyanchenko contract negotiations took place three months after the Mexican had beaten Danny Jacobs, with the American having defeated the Ukrainian nine months prior.
But what do I know? You're obviously determined to ignore reality and doggedly believe in something that cannot possibly be true!
Your thought process is completely bizarre!
• Canelo beats GGG during September 2018.
• Danny Jacobs beats Sergiy Derevyanchenko during October 2018.
• Canelo beats Danny Jacobs during May 2019.
• And during July 2019, Sergiy Derevyanchenko rejects a career-best purse of $5.5m to face Canelo.
• Canelo beats Sergey Kovalev at 175lbs during November 2019.
Therefore, you feel it's obvious Canelo "ducked" Sergiy Derevyanchenko. FFS!

Lol Golovkin didn't duck Chenko. He fough him! It was just business. Why take such a dangerous fighter like Chenko when you have lined up a rematch with Canelo and make lots of money? And G fought Chenko! So, only an armchair troll-hater and a sad tosser would say that GGG ducked Chenko. lol

Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
Unfortunately for you, it's considered an historical fact that GGG flatly-refused to consider performing a mandatory defence against the unbeaten Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Instead, he chose to vacate his IBF strap in preference to fighting the appalling Vanes Martirosyan.apollo creed wrote: ↑21 Jan 2021, 06:35 Lol Golovkin didn't duck Chenko. He fough him! It's also a fact that GGG only chose to face Derevyanchenko, until the Ukrainian had tasted defeat to Danny Jacobs. A fighter that Golovkin had already beaten.
It's also an historical fact that Golovkin decided to renounce his WBO number one challenger status, when he preferred to engage in the Steve Rolls mismatch, rather than challenging for Demetrius Andrade's middleweight title, with the champion being another DAZN stablemate.
What I've just written aren't opinions - they're historical facts. These events actually happened precisely as described.
You're absolutely right though, GGG cherry-picks opponents based on the outcome of business decisions, because he's obviously a "PRIZE fighter", rather than a "PRIDE fighter". He's not the first fighter to do this, and he won't be the last either.
So let's not pretend that GGG is an honourable sportsman that always does his utmost to deliver on his promises to always face the very best available opposition, shall we?
Re: So I just watched GGG vs Derevyanchenko
Anybody saying Canelo ducked Derevyanchenko is being ridiculous. Derevyanchenko is really nobody to duck at the moment, and Canelo has fought bigger and badder opponents aside from Derevyanchenko.
And see EO? Look at ya. Cutting down Golovkin saying he ducked a guy in a thread where I scored the fight, and the guys fought.
How do you duck a guy that you fought?
How do you even go on a tangent about so and so ducked a guy in a thread where we're all discussing the fight?
