Me too...he seemed like a world beater in that one!

Reading his record he must have been very, very good! A couple of controversial calls in world title bouts, including a no-contest in Italy (?) might have robbed him of a more dominant world championship reign and maybe even a spot in the IBHOF. But we will never know....

He was great. Very underrated. Nobody would fight him so he had to travel to get fights. Robbed in South Korea. Robbed in Italy. He beat the living shit out of Mazzinghi, he simply could not miss and sliced his face up. The referee ruled it a NC in violation of the rules but the ruling stood so the WBA ordered a rematch. Mazzinghi refused to fight him again in a show of outright cowardice so he was stripped setting up fight for the vacant title against Kitten Hayward. Little dominated Hayward in a boring fight. Hayward told me himself that he got cut and refused to take chances after that. By the time Little won the title he was already past his prime which accounts for his short tenure. He still couldnt get big fights so he had to travel to defend his title blowing out Minami, doing a paintjob of Piaskoway that left his face grotesquely swollen, a clash of heads TD against Bossi, and a rematch loss to Bossi in which Little was clearly shot and unable to pull the trigger. Great fighter and very interesting style.

Just reading about the screwjobs he took in his first two title fights is infuriating. Thank goodness he got to a championship.

Watching his two round blowout of Minami is interesting. Economy of movement, a jab that couldn’t miss and a thunderous finish.
