I suspect he'll be an exciting and interesting Contender for a few more years to come. It's not completely out of the question he could pick up a belt again the way they strip guys, and have guys fight for a vacant belt for no apparent reason so often, but I don't think he'll ever be as close to the top as he's already been again.

I don't think Wilder vs Ruiz is a guaranteed KO at all. Wilder vs Martin is.

Exactly. I can easily imagine him just not doing much in the way of offense, but managing to take Wilder's shots.

I figure Ruiz either catches Wilder, and takes him out with one good assault or loses a decision. Though him getting knocked out certainly isn't out of the question. Wilder can crack, but Ruiz has always been pretty tough.

AJ vs Wilder at least if Wilder can return to top form is still a very interesting fight to me. Feels like either guy could win it. If Fury were to beat AJ I'd still very much be down for AJ vs Wilder.

Agreed. AJ/Fury/Wilder is a matter of styles to me.

If Wilder took a tune up soon and then a top ten heavyweight,
he could challenge for a title or pick up a dropped title but....
But I think he will whine around and do nothing or bang out
a couple setups and retire claiming injury.
He will not get better over the next five years.
Still he is one punch away from a miracle.

I would favour him against AJ assuming that Fury didn't steal Wilders soul. Having said that Wilder is pretty much 100% athleticism with little technical skill it could be a quick fall.

AJ beats him him for me.. Wilder going on 36 as an athleticism based fighteer, and mentally f@cked based on what weve last seen. obv wilder can end things though

Joshua is more likely to win Wilder. But he must batter him early on. With his usual hesitance Joshua can get iced. He's not enough elusive to avoid it.

If Joshua had the chin of a Ruiz or a Joyce, I would pick him to beat any version of Wilder with 99.99% certainty, but he doesn't and while I would expect Joshua to win nine times out of ten, Wilder has the firepower to knock him out. A fight between those two will be massive even if both were ex-champions ... just as long as Wilder hasn't shown that by then he has nothing left.
