Mcgregor isn't very good is he? He's had 1 win in about 5 years now, and i think much of his success previous to that was fighting smaller men. He's a much bigger guy than me yet he was competing 10 stone 5. I'd need to cut a leg off to get to that.

His size advantage was definitely a factor. He is very good, he’s just not as good as the UFC, himself and his fans would have you believe. I don’t think he beats Volk or Max at 145 and there’s probably a few guys that beat him at 155 other than Porier.

McGregor says he will be back, I don't see any reason not to believe him tbh. He blames inactivity but IMO he did look quite sharp tonight. Going forward his problems are still exactly the same as they were when he lost to Diaz, he's dangerous for 1.5 rounds and he is still a one trick pony. I think he beats most if not all guys outside the top 5 at 155. If he doesnt get a fringe top 10 at LW who he should steam roll, I can't see Mcgregor being happy at being I think Volk at 145 makes the most sense for the UFC and McGregor. I doubt McGregor is any bigger than Max, Volk or Ortega tbh. McGregor can be sold at 145, he never his championship, he goes into Diaz loss mode saying everyone is 3x his size etc and still sells over a million PPVs. Volk wants the fight, he's already got 2 wins over Max who is his only opponent if he beats Ortega. UFC makes a shitload of money, if Conor wins a Max rematch is big dollars, if he loses they're in the exact same position as they are now. I don't see a downside tbh.

right. He seemed to crumble a bit easily also. Didn't like the pain of the leg kicks. Hes finished has to be.
He has folded in all of his losses tbh.

Hearing all the so called experts last night on a YouTube vid,Bisping,Perry and GSP saying connor by k.o round 1 or 2 I was thinking Poirier by k.o so checks the odds and felt like putting a a couple of quid on him but it was 5/2 so decided not to.
After Mcgregor smacked that old guy in an irish pub he lost me as a fan i hope he gets his clocked cleaned a few more times before he decides which is already obvious,he is finished.

He's not finished, poirier is like the mma equivalent of gene fullmer. Bad motherfucker that's easy to pick against.

Whatever happened to McGregor definitively being arrested in Ireland?

He should really be using his crutches.

Walking like that ain’t gonna help.

All the dough he's got has weakened his heart for a fight

Fair play to Conor, really made himself something, a lot of money wrapped round him, but he just isn't there tbh, can get in good shape an all that but just doesn't turn up when it's time to battle

I guess my prediction was correct although I thought it would take more than 2 rounds for Conor to wear down and fold.

poirer is a bad man but conor's whole demeanor seems a lot less confident now and he's freezing , i get the sense he's not as sure of himself or motivated anymore and that it will keep hurting him vs top opponents. no doubt he can still prob bash up cherry picked dudes like cowboi though

Not seen the fight, but a video came of Dana ring side saying the exact same thing.

Actually somewhat scary what he was saying

Was going to say ‘hard to wrestle-f*ck someone in a boxing match’, but then I remembered John Ruiz

aaaaaah sh1t it's boxing.

for some reason, on an mma thread, i thought it might be an MMA fight being referred to, i imagine wishful thinking lead to me jumping on the possibility of Paul getting ragdolled and g'n'p to death

I know little about MMA but I know his striking is awful. He will get panelled if it becomes a stand-up affair.

what, Askren? we've now established that it's boxing not MMA, anyway (I think?)
