Charlo:"Get that David Benavidez on the line." I'd like very much to see this fight in 2021!

Post by apollo creed »

“Get that David Benavidez on the line. I’ve been trying to call him, but he hasn’t answered,” said Jermall Charlo on social media. “Someone tell Benavidez to call me right now and we’ll set this s***."

then

“They don’t want to fight me. That’s a little boy,” Jermall said of the 24-year-old David Benavidez. “What is he? 23 or 24? I’ll hit him with some s*** he never been hit before."
“You mother f*** are retarded. Remmber the s*** what happened with [Erickson] Lubin. The mother f**** was too young and too dumb."

“He ran right into that s*** [from Jermall’s twin bother Jermell Charlo]. It snapped his mother f**** neck. He [Benavidez] could be my son. I could raise your a**.

then

They’re kids. I’m not fighting nobody under 25, and I’ not fighting nobody that don’t take the COVID vaccination."
"Get vaccinated, and have it on paper and bring it to the ring. Yeah, y’all going to have to get that shot before you can get in the ring with me.
Why wouldn’t I want my opponent to get vaccinated? These are my opponents. All my opponents must get vaccinated. I’m vaccinated already. I already got the vaccination."

and then

“If I got to 168, I’m still going to put my 160 belt on the line. If you want it, you can get it. Hey, Jose [Benavidez] shut your a** up. Put your brother on the phone."
“Benavidez, put your big brother on the phone. I’m trying to get Benavidez’s family on the line. His daddy was going to call me and s***. I’m waiting on the call. I’ll talk to him." @ BN24

WTF??!!

Tbh I don't think Charlo really wants to fight Benavidez but if this fight somehow happens in 2021 I think the winner could be a solid opponent for Canelo. The problem is that Benavidez doesn't have that wbc strap anymore and it could be difficult for him to get a top opponent.

Benavidez is the guy no one wants to face. He's a big 168 with fast hands and power.

Reason they want to challenge David Benavidez are for 2 reasons.

1. He's 24 and almost priming, a win looks great especially at a higher weight.

2. He's a big target, tall skinny and get's bambi legs and opens up his whole upper body defence when he gets popped.

David Benavidez 23-0 20 KO's

Worth the risk from a 30 year old 31-0 22 KO's Jermall Charlo's point of view ?

You could be right. Also Benavidez doesn't seem like a very disciplined and a hard worker type of fighter but I'd like to see this fight.

If he still had that wbc strap he would've had better chances to get a top name. But I'd like to see Benavidez staying more active and be more disciplined like Canelo and GGG.

Agreed. Benavidez is a mega talent but this is a hard game. Once upon a time it looked as if no one anyone near MW on the planet could stand up to the 25 year old Tommy Hearns.

That performance against Duran was worldwide news.

Benavidez needs to get focused. Talent like his deserves that. Otherwise disaster can strike unexpectedly, as Roberto Duran found out some 35 years ago on that June night.

Not sure if Benavidez is blagging everyone either.
I think he can dig deep and has capabilities.
I like the style match up.

Benavidez is one of those fighters who is just plain fun to watch. He has that raw power and seems to effortlessly reel off punches. Really fun to watch but will get eaten up by a technician.

Well this will be a long story but I’ll save you the long read and Summarise. Essentially it goes back to my childhood.... My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy.... My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloé with webbed feet. My father would womanize; he would drink; he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.[
