I think Dubois can still be a force. I think he’s got a lot of maturing to do mentally. Nothing wrong with losing as long as you take it the right way and grow from it.

They probably want the Usyk fight on PPV.maverick23 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 10:32Sky don’t often push non-Sky fighters on their TV shows. Wonder if they’re (Matchroom and Sky) courting Joe to move over. Joe’s really got FW/BT over a barrel.Cyclops wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 07:15To get himself known by fans and to try and get more comfortable in front of a camera?handsofstone wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 06:43 Off topic but just seen Joe Joyce is appearing live on Soccer AM today, why oh why does he keep putting himself in these situations?
Casuals seem to like him. I was looking at some YouTube comments on the Dubois fight (where the casuals dwell) and he seems popular enough. They should have him on with his Mum, who seems a right character.

Never on the hype train with Dubois, and although he is going to come back better and stronger I just do not see the fundamentals being good enough.
People are already forgetting he was beaten up by a jab.

he is a kid who obvious is dedicated to boxing and learning all the time , sometimes a move is a good ,something fresh new things , i still think he has a bright furture

His hands are slow but the rest of him isn't. He moves very well and by the time he's thrown that 'slow punch' it's already landed because what he does comes from his feet. That's what I've observed anyway. For someone so slow of hand speed, he's alarmingly accurate. We all know a decent punch comes from the feet and then the hips. He has a weird style. He doesn't use torque like somebody like Wilder, he steps in and punches behind that. It's not how I would generate power, but then I''m not 6'6 and 18 stone. Most people look at hand speed only, but if you do that then all you see is a slow, goofy guy. He has a lot more to his game than that.mickey1975 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 08:44 Everyone says Joyce is criminally slow, but he has somehow managed to achieve all he has.

And if you add to that he is an enormous, proper strong unit, who keeps on coming with a great chin and a big heart it all makes him very difficult to beat.Cyclops wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 15:49His hands are slow but the rest of him isn't. i kinda agree , but i also thought dd was winning or very close and he has power so very much a live fighter , but i didnt know how bad his eye was watching it online , but i think your corner should throw the towel in before the fighter has tooCyclops wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021, 04:19He seemed panicked quite early on. I've commented on his corner advice during that fight before and, as pointed out previously, he's quite a scary bloke in real life, so all I'll say is that he probably realised that he should have made the call to pull Dan out (I really think when Daniel goes down on his knee he's looking around for the towel to come in to save him) and so has brought Tibbs in, who's a good trainer but as Mickey pointed out is still part of the same circle, so I'm sure Bowers will still have some input.
I think it's a good decision.

it was close and of course dd was actually ahead on the cards with only 2 rounds to go. the eye was bad but he wasnt exactly taking a beating or anything and joyce wasnt really upping his output much. up until that knee it looked like dd still had a good shot of winning, i can understand not pulling him out

he is terribly slow btw, you just need to look at it, not as if the dub win changes that. he obviously has other qualities that allow him to compensate for that lack of speed, but none of the stuff about him being really slow is wrong tbf

Tibbs was doing a good job with Whyte. I guess he can do the same for DDD.
