BBC Getting Back Into Combat Sport

Post by Jimmy2020 »

Bellator MMA will be aired exclusively live on BBC iPlayer throughout 2021. A decent move and I'm glad the licence fee has gone to MMA rather than the increasingly dire professional boxing.

i used to watch Bellator on C5 and Spike, for years, quite enjoyed it. This is a bonus, I'll watch any decently-matched fighting at a decent level, if it's on, albeit talent levels compared to UFC are often a bit limited.

Surprised that Sky Sports has let Bellator go, but great news for mma as it's exposure to a larger percentage of the UK audience.

Some of the talents in Bellator definitely match those of the UFC but they just don't have the depth the UFC does. Douglas Lima for example, definitely would be a top level welterweight in the UFC if not the top dog.

Shame we won't ever see cross promotional fights.

i heard someone call kickboxers sissys once for kicking, reality is kicks can do a lot more damage than punches , now add punches, elbows, knees, grappling to it.....let's face it, these mma dudes tough dudes

kicking is very much i would say a natural action , also in a street fight i would always advise to low kick aganist a bigger person in a street fight as you can keep your distance with out them grabbing you , no way sissy
