Dan Rafael came up with the same figure. Russell jnr turned down the Matchroom bid saying it is beneath the level that he is getting. maverick23 obviously knows better.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 07:40 On that Sportekz link you sent their references are places like BoxingNews24 and Boxing Forum! I can believe the JoJo Diaz purse but I’m not buying his purse for the Martinez or his last fight.

Sportekz is not accurate. They guess the fighters purse, based on their previous fights.Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 09:47Dan Rafael came up with the same figure. Dan is accurate, as he usually gets his purse figures from the commission.
His tweet was, "I was told ... ".. So in this case, can't really go with this.
But I remember at the time, another website was stating $1.4m too.

I’m fine, looking forward to Hopey Price tonight and Sheffield’s best prospect, Dalton Smith.Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 09:55You're rambling again.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 07:50 I dread to think how low the offers were! I’m not disputing the JoJo Diaz fight purse (as I said in my post you quoted). Did Dan report the other purses too?Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 09:47Dan Rafael came up with the same figure. When a site acknowledges that they use forums to get their information I think you’d be a mug to take it as gospel!
Also Russell didn’t say the offer was below what he was getting. He said the below....
‘’Eddie Hearn reached out to me through Instagram,” Russell told co-hosts Kenneth Bouhairie and Michael Rosenthal in an episode that debuted Wednesday on premierboxingchampions.com. “He offered me a million dollars to fight Josh Warrington for a unification match. And I felt like it was a little, it was beneath my standards.”
Sorry for letting facts get in the way.

These are the available "estimated figures".

It's easy to keep the Warrington footy fans on board by making offers to champions. The fact that it is for less than the "estimated figures" of Russell's recent fights won't get through to the #MarchingOnTogether crew.

I have no allegiance to either Warrington or Galahad - I like them both in fairness and given how dull their first fight was I don’t want to see the rematch.Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 12:15If you want facts you'd better check the contracts.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 10:34I’m not disputing the JoJo Diaz fight purse (as I said in my post you quoted). So Fightsaga (another website I’ve never heard of before) are taking his reported purse from a much bigger fight and are adding $200k each side to it to get their estimate for this fight. Rubbish basis for it.
If that was the case wouldn’t have Russell Jr been more pissed off with Eddie’s offer? Rather than saying ‘I felt like it was a little, it was beneath my standards’, wouldn’t he have been ripping Eddie to shreds about his derisory offer?

Unfortunately all the estimated figures for Russell jnr's last 3 purses are much too high to suit your argument.
Now you are dissecting Russell jnr's speech pattern to try and suit your argument.
It's simple. Warrington hasn't got a belt. If Hearn wants to entice a belt-holder over to Leeds he is going to have to pay top dollar.

Jesus . I’d be interested to know the economics of these haymon shows. He pays these guys top dollar to mediocre reception.Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 05:36For Joseph Diaz he got a guaranteed $1.4m plus 60% of PPV split share. His last 2 fights he got $1m plus either 50% or 60% of PPV.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 05:13 Does anyone know Russell’s career high purse? What exactly is this guy waiting for? Sometimes you’ve got to roll the dice like Crawford did with Burns and come over. I would pick Russell to win

read properly bruh, i said he wasnt even the main event for all of them, i didnt say he wasnt the main event for any of them. lol you think he's taking home 50-60 percent of the ppv (which didnt exist btw) as an undercard fighter?Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑13 Feb 2021, 07:14He was the main event for Diaz and Nyambayar according to Boxrec. though i guess for puggys sake it would help if russell was some ppv star
what happened to that massive kid g pbc deal btw?
Kid G was offered deals from 3 companies before purse bids. He thinks he'll be in a stronger position with the belt.
where did you get the 50-60 ppv cut anyway? those fights were all on normal , non-ppv showtime

You don’t always get an increased purse every fight. The Diaz fight was a much better fight financially that the Tughshot fight.
He’s bound to have a similar or less purse.
Anyone can estimate.

The best sources for purses are Dan Rafael, Mike C, the state commissions..
