i favoured miller heavily over joshua... considered st that point of time as the fvcking terminator come into flesh.

of course one has to hustle on, whatever shit card you get caught pullin' outta ur own sleeve thinkin' on ur absolutely effed up mind it's a royal flush while the moment u turn your deck u realise it's practically a dead man's hand.

i still would like to see big baby against some at least decent opposition.

i wouldn't write him off completely.

he's still in a spot where, if he really gets his shite together,
it could go quite fast that within 2 or 3 convincing wins in LEGIT FIGHTS a major oppurtunity turns up where he suddenly finds himself one step away from a title shot... once again, he even may fvck up once again.

let's see.

2 bans directly from PED allegations and cover ups, constantly ridiculed and mocked, a reputation in tatters, I'd probably put EO top of the list.

The number of boxers using human growth hormones must be astronomical. The kickboxing/mma star Marko Cro Cop famously admitted to USADA and the UFC using HGH in 2015 after being surprised by a random drugs test. He was banned for 2 years, but the funny thing was when USADA tested his actual sample they couldn't find any HGH. Some of the tests are well behind the curve of the drugs being used.

No boxer's reputation has been ruined by PEDs the way baseball players have been. Big Baby's a big bum, no one cares and he'll still come back and get paid to fight. Boxing doesn't have the demand for oversight and if you have money you make the rules. Do the promoters have a reason to clean up the sport? I always quote Khrushchev, it's like asking the goats to guard the cabbage. This might not be a popular opinion but it seemed obvious to me Pacquiao was on PEDs in the Thurman fight. The muscle speed was incredible for a man of his age. I love Pacquiao and I don't think his reputation should be ruined because we don't know for sure but it's something that should have been looked at.

One thing people miss about PEDs, they help you recover quickly from injuries. I'm suspicious when an old guy who's had a series of injuries comes back 150% in a short amount of time. You look at the same pattern you saw in baseball, guys in their peak in their mid to late 30s and performing well late into their 40s. You don't want to ruin peoples' reputations for training hard, you can't throw around accusations but you don't want to see someone get killed. I see some of these guys' bodies and I say 'oh man..'

I don't think Tyson was ever on steroids. He didn't extend his career far past 30 and had all the natural talent in the world. When he got slow and lazy it was obvious. He reminds me of Ken Griffey Jr for instance, another guy with the natural talent who didn't need it. If he was roided up in his early 20s he would have killed people. Knocked their heads off. The steroids didn't get popular with the athletes until the late 80s, early 90s when the drugs got safer and better. Before that they worried about too much muscle mass, they thought you'd lose your speed and be immobile. In the mid 80s baseball players were still getting chewed out for coming to camp 'too bulky'. McGwire changed that in 1987 and by the early 90s everyone was using them.

Tend to agree. Lance Armstrong and the Baseball cheats are in a class to themselves. It would take somebody like Ali or SRL or Manny Pac or Money to be found to be a regular user and have their titles stripped from the record books for them to be comparable. I do enjoy the stories of bad Mexican meat. I've eaten meat in Mexico many times and never felt a lick stronger

Pacquiao must be under a testosterone replacement clinic. It’s all probably very hush hush, but I’d think think his testosterone is set at high normal ranges, and he actually gets prescribed a lot more besides. I would be mind blown if he’s actually still operating on his normal testosterone production at his age, involved in still trying to fight in world class.

Holyfield got away with it for whatever reason back in the day .

Canelo likes certain types of meats that can contain extras as do the Furys , seems like there is always a way to dodge the bullet .

I think its very likely Mike Tyson was roided to the hilt and again somehow got away with it , he even admitted using a false cock to piss with !

Cocaine use. He's quite candid about it.

If Mike Tyson had ever used PEDs he'd be banned from boxing in the same way as the Eiger was once for climbing.

On the grounds of being too dangerous.

I don't think there's ever been a boxer as open and confessional about his behaviour as Mike Tyson.

His autobiography is a must read for any fan of boxing. [The UK version had certain sections omitted due to legal reasons].

If any boxer could ever own up to doing performance enhancing drugs - none of them do - it would be Mike Tyson.

Grossly unfair to drag him into this upon mere conjecture when there's so much circumstantial evidence stacked up against the likes of Mayweather, Marquez, and Holyfield etc.
Sorry but Mike was definitely on steroids at one point or another during his career. It was the 80's. It was all cocaine, steroids and blow jobs.

Well, so I've been told. All I remember about the 80's was having a shell suit and being really jealous of the rich kids who had Soda Streams. It was sh*t.

To clarify...even if I do think Tyson was using PEDS (at some point in his career), I don't think that should take away from his accomplishments. Why? Because I assume everyone else was doing it. It was the 90's, bodybuilding/strength training had begun to invade boxing and with it the PED subculture.

No major fighters reputations have been damaged. Listen to both Tyson's comments on the matter & read between the lines. Look at who failed tests or got implicated & know that that is only the tip of the iceberg.

It would be very naive to think that most top level fighters don't take peds. And if they don't, and could enhance their performance by 10% , why wouldn't they. In a life & death sport.

Know one knows everything & there are a range of supplements from nutrition on up. Did these things exist back in the 60s and 70s?

From the 90’s onwards there was a much greater range of steroids available and a increasing understanding of how they work and their side effects. Human Growth Hormone is relatively recent in comparison and harder to detect. And it’s really this drug that allows 5 foot 10 bodybuilders to weigh 300 pounds ripped. The rise of the mass monster. In terms of size and strength, PEDS can add a lot more than just 10% improvement. It’s a huge amount.

Celebrities are as bad. They have the tame testosterone replacement therapy doctors in their pockets. They don’t even have to break the law and get prescribed all sorts of high testosterone weekly doses and steroids. How does the Rock look like the Rock in his late 40’s - well he’s probably on a high TRT regiment that puts him on a high normal level plus 20% extra for good luck. And then blasts it even higher and throws in Nandrolone to volumize his muscles when preparing for a big role. He’s like a heart attack waiting to happen trying to maintain 277 pounds lean at his age.

How is Tom Cruise bouncing around like a 25 year old at 50 blooming 8? Well I sure as shit wouldn’t want to have his heart, liver and kidneys that’s for sure, because you always have to pay the piper with this stuff eventually.

Great post! Of course the rich and famous are all on a cocktail of various ingredients. Why wouldn't they be?

However I'm not so sure about them having to pay the Piper eventually anymore.

Perhaps the science has progressed way beyond the stuff that politicians and rock stars were doing back say even 25 years ago?

Just take a look at world politics, there's quite a few eminent politicians functioning at levels that many people far far younger would find impossible.

I'm guessing that the doctors/scientists working in research labs today know fully well which PEDs are high risk and which ones are no more dangerous than the prescription medications taken daily by millions.

Perhaps some brave journalist could have a chat with Canelo about this rather interesting subject.

I’m not sure I buy that there are any safe anabolics out there. Steroids, SARMS, Peptides, Growth Hormone will get you in the end. Even shooting for high normal testosterone on a TRT regiment - which anymore taking anabolics cycles ends stuck on for life because their natural system is crashed - will give you minimum higher blood pressure and a higher risk of a heart attack.

Given he is #1 pound for pound, I'd have to say Canelo.
His achievements will sadly always have the taint of Mexican beef.

After him it has to be Miller, just for the multiple fails and a career that shouted of enhancements once you got to learn about what he was busted for.

Tyson Fury is a strange one, if anything, drugs and getting fat and getting slim, whilst Twittering exhaustively actually enhanced his career

Its enough to give him an astrix for me. bit like jon jones in MMA, they will both be remembered as all time greats, just with a little * in many peoples minds. dosent help canelo that he went from a pretty normal looking 154, to an absolute Nugget 168 and kept his speed, and cardio.

In that case you gotta put an asterix next to every great fighter of the last 30 years or so.
