Middleweights: Tony Zale vs Jake LaMotta

Post by elmersalsa »

Probably Jake LaMotta could have been world middleweight king much earlier than 1949.

Who wins in this war? I know it would be one of the best in history.

Both in their primes I think Zale has a bit more wrinkles to his game, and is able to win a hard fought decision in this one. Both are too tough to be stopped by the other. Lamotta wasn't as big a puncher as Zale, but took a punch better. I doubt either one of them goes down, but they'd beat the ever loving sh*t out of one another.

I think Zale wins it, and it's awesome.

Me too and "The Man of Steal" Tony Zale may likely win by decision over the "Raging Bull" Jake La Motta

Pretty much how I see it. Probably does the distance in a very hard fought fight. Zale wins 7 out of 10.

Zale's style was perfect for LaMotta.

Jake by mid round TKO.

To me given LaMotta's lack of power, that is unlikely to happen; at least not until the late rounds. Zale did not have as good of a chin as LaMotta, but it was very good.
