Where was compubox sitting as I thought there were Covid restrictions in place and even Sky commentators are 50m away??
Is this based on what they judge has landed from TV???

tv would be a better view point tbh, maybe they should try more fights with judges watching a monitor

That's bollocks. TV is 2D and nowhere near as good a view of what is happening than a good ringside seat. Hence my post on the other topic, Compubox in his living room is no more reliable than a poster on here.

Shots fighters caught on their shoulders and gloves may look like scoring shots on television and vice versa.

Really nicely put from Carl there, a really genuine person, I must admit I didn’t like his comments after the triple D fight but he’s redeemed himself here

Frampton's totally wrong. Warrington was anything but complacent. He was extremely nervous in the run up to this fight. Even though his sparring had gone well he was worried that people were downplaying Lara and that inactivity and the unusual circumstances of the 'fight bubble' would take him out of his stride. Everybody was overlooking Lara apart from Warrington.

Should Warrington have been pulled out of the fight sooner?

Eric Donovan, Irish featherweight champion: "Winning is important, I get that, but at what price? Warrington was fighting concussed there for 5/6 rounds. Fighters are warriors, sometimes they need to be saved from themselves. But I would have fought on the very same. Easier to be opinioated from the outside."

Danny Flexen, Seconds Out: "Situation reversed, referee stops that 100%"

Andrew Harrison, Boxing Writer: "After his balance went they should have saved him for another day. I'm sure there's a physical issue (burst eardrum maybe). Ref did him no favours at all letting it go."

Tim Rickson, BBN Editor: "Referee Howard Foster clearly knew who was paying his wages that night. There's no doubt that if Lara was taking the punishment that Warrington was receiving in round four, that the fight would definitely have been stopped. Because it was the home fighter, he was allowed to continue way past the point of when the stoppage should have been called. I have no doubt about that. Watching him walk back to the corner, not knowing where he was and barely making it there - he couldn't walk in a straight line - and then his team sending him straight back out again?!! I couldn't believe they allowed him to go back out after that, his balance was off, his legs were gone. Dangerous decision."

Mick Kane, Boxing Writer: "If the ref had stopped the fight in the fourth, I don't think anyone would have complained. When Warrington was walking back to the corner, he was all over the place, it couldn't even been stopped then. Saying that, after the first minute of the fifth when he still looked a bit ropey, Warrington came on strong and probably won that round. I thought then he had got over the worse but Lara was still able to catch him, culminating in the stoppage. Did he take unnecessary damage? Probably."

Jack Bradley, BBN Writer: "Absolutely. Warrington shouldn’t have been allowed to hear the bell for the end of the fourth round, never mind being allowed to come out for the fifth. Had it been Lara in that position, he’d have been back in his dressing room licking his wounds a few minutes later. Whatever damaged Warrington sustained after that first knockdown was wholly unavoidable."

If that hasnt ruined him, then the rematch will ... he wont beat Lara. Unfortunately for Warrington his style is perfect for those heavy hands of Lara.

disagree totally, at the ring you're locked into one place, with ropes obscuring the view, blind spots in the ring, ref in the way, from below the ring etc. youre in now way suited to count scoring shots when the dudes are ,for example, fighting over at the other side of the ring in the corner, with the one guy with his back to you and your view of the other guy blocked by said dude, the ref walking back and forth, etc....................and you can regularly see judges craning their necks and lurching all around to try to see better

tv provides a much better view and adapts to give the best view possible for where the fighters are

I was surprised Foster didn't stop the fight in the 4th round, especially with his track record.

Warrington, however, was in the fight until the finishing punches. Josh's fitness and competitiveness were exceptional.

As a few have mentioned, Lara's style and punch power proved too much. IMO Warrington fought worse against Kiko Martinez, but got through, this time it wasn't enough.

The spirit that both Lara and Warrington fought in were a credit to boxing. That was as competitive & hard fought as they come, but both also fought with great sportsmanship :salut:

After the farce of the chief support, did they release the cards from the Warrington fight?

I saw the bookies still had Warrington as favourite after about 6 rounds

Well concerning Foster’s track record, specifically stopping Grove early, wasn’t Froch with matchroom that night?

Can you imagine the big compassionate show he would’ve made of rescuing Lara, if the positions had been reversed in the fourth round ?

The general opinion is that Foster was wrong in both so why can't be be pulled on both ? He watched Warrington wobble most of the way back to the corner and ignored it.

I thought Groves was with Matchroom at the same time for the first fight and then left to join Sauerland for the rematch?

Wether he was or wasn’t, he was clearly the B side. A bit like Joyce against Dubois.

No chance mate. It was obvious that Groves was the away fighter particularly given how far Hearn was up Froch's arse...

I checked. Groves left Hayemaker/Booth before the first Froch fight.. He was managing his own affairs at the time of the first Froch fight. He was just working with Frank W and Hearn on a fight-by-fight basis.

He then signed with Sauerland AFTER the rematch was announced and sold out, but BEFORE it took place.

Yeah - he was promoted by Matchroom in his fight before Froch.

Fully agree though that Eddie was up Froch’s arse in a similar way to the recent Dubois/Joyce fight.

Yeh, working with Matchroom. Wasn't under contract was he? or did I miss something?
