According to numerous sources in Canada, an agreement has been reached for Claressa Shields to stake her titles against another undefeated world champion, Canadian star Marie Eve Dicaire.

The contest is slated to take place on May 9 in Shields' backyard of Flint, Michigan.

Shields holds the WBC, WBO world titles at junior middleweight, while Dicaire is the IBF's world champion.

Back in January, Shields moved down in weight to dominated Ivana Habazin over ten rounds to capture the WBC, WBO titles. Shields is still undisputed champion at middleweight, with the WBC, WBO, IBF and WBA titles around her waist.

Dicaire brings an undefeated record of 17-0, but has yet to score a knockout inside the distance. Shield has captured world titles in three weight classes in only ten fights, with two knockouts on her record.

Dicaire started her career around the welterweight division, and then moved up to junior middleweight - and captured the IBF title in February of 2018.

Shields started out at super middleweight, where she captured her first world title.

A two-time Olympic gold medal winner, Shields has far more experience and faced a better level of opposition in the pro ranks.

Dicaire is promoted by Yvon Michel of GYM. Michel reached an agreement with Shields' manager, Mark Taffet.

Reportedly a press conference will be held on Monday in Michigan. Then, on March 23, Shields and Dicaire will hold another press conference in Montreal in order to set the stage for their fight.

I'm reading that Dicaire is a much more legit opponent than Habazin.

Shame she doesn't have any stoppage losses, but then Shields isn't the don in the department either.

Press Release

Undefeated three-division world champion Claressa Shields will attempt to become the first boxer in the four-belt era to become an undisputed world champion in two weight divisions when she faces unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight Champion Marie-Eve Dicaire in a 154-pound unification bout on Saturday, May 9, live on SHOWTIME (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT) from the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Shields’ hometown of Flint, Mich.

The winner of the SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION main event will walk away with Shields’ WBC and WBO titles, Dicaire’s IBF belt, and the WBA (Super) crown. This is the first time in its 99-year history that the WBA has awarded a Super Champion belt to a female boxer.

Tickets for the Salita Promotions event start at $35 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com and at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center box office.

“I can’t wait to make history again on May 9,” said Shields. “Fighting in Flint in front of all my fans has been a dream of mine since turning pro. Having the opportunity to make history by fighting for the undisputed title in a second weight division is something I’m very proud of. Fighting against undefeated IBF 154-pound champion Marie-Eve Dicaire continues my quest to fight the very best in women’s boxing. And headlining on SHOWTIME again will continue my goal to lift women’s boxing to new heights. I’m going to give Flint and fight fans all over the world a night to remember on May 9!”

“I am very excited for this opportunity and it is an honor to face an opponent like Claressa Shields,”
said Dicaire. “I am thankful to my promoter Yvon Michel and everyone involved in making this possible. For me, this is a dream come true. I will be prepared the best I can be and I am ready to leave everything in the ring to win the fight!”

In the four-belt era, only seven fighters have been undisputed in one division, including Shields, Katie Taylor, Cecilia Braekhus, Bernard Hopkins, Jermain Taylor, Terence Crawford, and Oleksandr Usyk.

On January 10 in Atlantic City, N.J., Shields made history by claiming the WBC and WBO 154-pound world championships with a dominating unanimous decision over Ivana Habazin. Shields became the fastest fighter in history, male or female, to win world titles in three different weight divisions, surpassing the records of Vasiliy Lomachenko and Kosei Tanaka, who both accomplished the feat in 12 fights.

The 24-year-old Shields (10-0, 2 KOs) overpowered Habazin from the opening bell, utilizing a strong jab and a steady diet of body shots that left the Croatian mostly in defensive mode throughout the 10-round fight. In the sixth round, a series of body shots forced Habazin to take a knee in the first knockdown of her career.

“SHOWTIME has a long history of featuring the best in women’s combat sports, whether it was with Gina Carrano, Cris Cyborg and Ronda Rousey in MMA, or Laila Ali and Christy Martin in boxing,” said Gordon Hall, Executive Producer of SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION. “More recently, we have shown Claressa Shields, Christina Hammer, Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor and seven-division champion Amanda Serrano. Shields vs. Dicaire will be our 12th women’s boxing event since 2017. Claressa’s bout with Dicaire represents another historic battle of unbeatens and attempt for another ‘first’ on SHOWTIME as Claressa looks to become undisputed in two weight classes.”

“I am excited to bring a historic night of boxing to fans in Flint at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center and to those watching on SHOWTIME,”
said Dmitriy Salita, President of Salita Promotions. “In Claressa Shields and Marie-Eve Dicaire, we have the two best junior middleweights in the world and two undefeated champions fighting for the undisputed world championship. In addition to her already historic list of firsts, if victorious, Claressa will become the first two-division undisputed champion in the four-belt era. It will be a triumphant night in Flint on May 9.”

After becoming the first American boxer in history – male or female – to win two consecutive Olympic Gold Medals, Shields turned professional following the 2016 Olympics and headlined the first women’s boxing main event in premium cable television history in just her second professional fight in 2017. Shields, who will be headlining for the seventh time on SHOWTIME, now has her sights on making even more history.

“Claressa Shields continues to be a beacon of light and a trailblazer for women’s boxing, women’s sports, and boxing overall,” said Mark Taffet, Shields’ manager. “Being the only American to win back-to-back Olympic Gold in boxing, having won world titles in three weight divisions faster than any man or woman in boxing history, and now having the chance to be the first person – man or woman – to be an undisputed champion in two weight divisions in the four-belt era, Claressa will continue to add to her list of legendary, unprecedented and history-making accomplishments come May 9. I’m proud to be a part of her journey.”

The 33-year-old Dicaire (17-0) is from Saint-Eustache, Quebec, Canada, and started karate at the age of six. She worked her way up through the ranks until she obtained her black belt. After winning five world championship titles, Dicaire turned her attention to boxing and won the IBF Super Welterweight World Championship belt in December 2018 dethroning by decision the Uruguayan Chris Namus at the Quebec City Videotron Center. In her last fight in November of 2019, Dicaire defended her title for the third time beating experienced Venezuelan Ogleidis Suarez by unanimous decision. Dicaire will be fighting outside of the province of Quebec for the first time on May 9 and will be looking to score the upset victory in front of Shields’ hometown fans.

“Marie-Eve Dicaire against Claressa Shields, a battle of two undefeated champions for all the titles – you can’t get a better match in boxing,” said Yvon Michel, Dicaire’s promoter, President of GYM. “We have great respect and admiration for all Shields has accomplished but there is no doubt Marie-Eve is the most skilled, strong and dedicated opponent Claressa has faced. We are very confident that all the belts will come back to Canada with us. Thanks to Salita Promotions and SHOWTIME for the opportunity. Marie-Eve Dicaire will provide a great fight for the fans and viewers.”

Shields vs. Dicaire Unification Battle Postponed

With the world currently focused on fighting the Coronavirus pandemic, Salita Promotions has made the decision to postpone and reschedule the Claressa Shields vs Marie-Eve Dicaire Undisputed World Championship fight, originally slated for May 9 at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Flint, Mich., and live on SHOWTIME.

Salita Promotions will continue to monitor the circumstances closely and work diligently with Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center, Showtime and state officials to announce a new date as soon as conditions are favorable.

The postponement forces undefeated three-division and current WBC and WBO Super Welterweight world champion Shields to delay her bid to become the first boxer in the four-belt era to be crowned an undisputed world champion in two weight divisions against also unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight Champion Dicaire.

Ticket holders for the May 9 event can simply use their tickets in hand from Ticketmaster or the box office for the to-be-announced rescheduled date. Alternatively, ticket holders can receive a refund through Ticketmaster or in-person at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center box office.

“Unfortunately, the real fight is outside the ring right now,” said Dmitriy Salita. “Once our invisible opponent is beaten, we can get back to watching two undefeated champions and the two best super welterweights in the world vie for the undisputed world title as Claressa Shields continues to build her incredible legacy in female boxing.”

UFC president Dana White reportedly set to enter boxing with undisputed title fight in December between Claressa Shields and Marie-Eve Dicaire

Dana White’s entry into boxing is now imminent, according to reports.

The UFC president has been teasing a plan to promote fights in the sport for some time, following his success with the brand that dominates the MMA sphere.

According to the Journal de Montreal, White’s company Zuffa Boxing will be the promoters of Claressa Shields vs Marie-Eve Dicaire.

It’s claimed the fight will take place on December 11 in Las Vegas and be streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

Shields vs Dicaire was initially due to take place on May 9 with a different promoter, but plans were scrapped by the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, the undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO super-welterweight title fight has found a new home.

White previously explained on the BT Sport Boxing Show: back in September: “The world of boxing hasn’t been able to do what I’ve been able to do [in MMA] over the last 20 years.

“If they can’t do things when the world is normal, you can’t expect them to do things when the world is crazy.”

Regarding his own interest in entering the sport, he said: “Yep, I peaked under the hood a lot there for the last year.

“Looked at different things and I said, ‘I don’t know man, I don’t know if this is fixable.’

"Funny enough, since the pandemic I’ve been looking at other options too.

“And we’ll probably have something to announce here soon. Yeah [it is in the world of boxing].

“When it’s time, I’ll let you know, I’m not ready yet.

“But [it’ll be] in the next couple of weeks.”

God knows what they need to break even.

I can’t imagine any purses are gonna be high. Probably only Shields will get six figures in this fight.

Pres Release

In the 10-round main event of “SUPERWOMEN,’ an herstoric night of live, all-female pay-per-view boxing (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT) celebrating women’s sports and dedicated to International Women’s Day 2021, undefeated three-division world champion Claressa Shields will attempt to become the first boxer in the four-belt era to become an undisputed world champion in two weight divisions when she faces unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight Champion Marie-Eve Dicaire in a 154-pound unification bout between the #1 and #2 junior middleweights in the world.

Presented by Salita Promotions in association with Groupe Yvon Michel, the pay-per-view telecast will be available at a suggested retail price of just $29.95 and will be distributed by InDemand to all major cable, satellite and telco outlets and livestreamed by FITE TV through the www.fite.tv portal. ‘SUPERWOMEN’ will be held on Friday, March 5, from the Dort Financial Center in Shields’ hometown of Flint, Michigan.

The winner of the women’s superfight will walk away with Shields’ WBC and WBO titles, Dicaire’s IBF belt, and the WBA (Super) crown, the first time in its 99-year history that the WBA has awarded a Super Champion belt to a female boxer. In the four-belt era, only seven fighters have been undisputed in one division, including Shields, Katie Taylor, Cecilia Braekhus, Bernard Hopkins, Jermain Taylor, Terence Crawford, and Oleksandr Usyk. Shields, if victorious, will make history as the first man or woman to have become undisputed champion in two weight divisions in the four-belt era.

With the pandemic taking a serious bite out of the sport in 2020, ‘SUPERWOMEN’ will demonstrate and celebrate the power and empowerment of women in combat sports for 2021 and beyond by providing an entire evening of fights featuring some of the best female boxers in the world. Appropriately, the event is dedicated to this year’s International Women’s day (Monday, March 8, 2021) and its theme of #ChooseToChallenge, that looks to call out gender bias and inequity and celebrate women's achievements.

The most accomplished amateur boxer in U.S. history, 25-year-old Shields (10-0, 2 KOs) is the first American boxer – male or female – to win two consecutive Olympic Gold Medals. She turned professional following the 2016 Olympics and headlined the first women’s boxing main event in premium cable television history in just her second professional fight in 2017.

Shields became Unified Super Middleweight World Champion in just her fourth professional fight, the Unified Middleweight World Champion in her sixth professional fight and Unified Super Welterweight World Champion in her tenth fight. She now holds the record for becoming a two- and three-weight world champion in the fewest professional fights. Shields participated in the biggest fight in women’s boxing history by beating Christina Hammer for the Undisputed Middleweight Championship of the World on April 13, 2019. On January 10 in Atlantic City, N.J., Shields became the fastest fighter in history, male or female, to win world titles in three different weight divisions by claiming the WBC and WBO 154-pound world championships with a dominating unanimous decision over Ivana Habazin.

“I’m excited to be fighting another undefeated champion and to have the opportunity to make history by becoming the first fighter – male or female – to be undisputed champion in two weight divisions in the four-belt era,” said Claressa Shields. “Headlining my first pay-per-view event with this historic all-women’s card, particularly at such an important time in the evolution of women’s boxing and around the International Women’s Day celebration, is so meaningful to me. We’re going to put on one heck of a show for the world to see. It’s one big step for boxing and one giant step for Womankind. I can’t wait to fight Marie Eve Dicaire on March 5.”

34-year-old Dicaire (17-0) is from Saint-Eustache, Quebec, Canada, and started karate at the age of six. She worked her way up through the ranks until she obtained her black belt. After winning five world championship titles, Dicaire turned her attention to boxing and won the IBF Super Welterweight World Championship in December 2018 by dethroning Uruguay’s Chris Namus at the Quebec City Videotron Center. In her last fight, in November 2019, Dicaire defended her title for the third time beating experienced Venezuelan Ogleidis Suarez by unanimous decision. Dicaire will be fighting outside of the province of Quebec for the first time on March 5.

“I'm happy to finally be able to get back in the ring and face Claressa Shields,” said Dicaire. “It's been a year now that I've been preparing exclusively for this fight. I'm used to making history in women's boxing. I was the first woman to lead an event in a major amphitheater in Canada. On two occasions, my IBF defenses have been shown on pay-per-view in Canada. I have a lot of respect for everything Shields has accomplished; I am excited about this opportunity for my career and for the advancement of international women’s boxing. Like Claressa I am undefeated and, just like her, I am coming to defend my world crown. We are going to have a lot of fun on March 5 measuring our skills, without restraints, and putting on a grandiose and memorable show. We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time. I would like to thank all those who made this event possible and I invite you to be there on March 5 in large numbers!”

"Claressa will be fighting the toughest fight of her career,” said Dmitriy Salita, President of Salita Promotions, “as she strives to once again make history and do what no man or woman has done in boxing against undefeated IBF World Champion Marie Dicaire by winning a second undisputed world title. I am thrilled to be the promoter of her first PPV main event on the important weekend of International Women’s Day. March 5 is going to be a Herstoric night inside and outside the ring live on PPV from the Dort Financial Center in Claressa's hometown of Flint, Michigan."

“Claressa Shields and Marie Eve Dicaire are not just undefeated champions in the ring, they are fierce supporters of women’s boxing and equality outside the ring,” said Mark Taffet, President of Mark Taffet Media and Manager of Claressa Shields. “At a time when too many networks in the US are under-supporting women’s boxing, Claressa and Marie deserve tremendous credit for taking matters into their own hands and agreeing to take their undisputed world championship fight to pay-per-view. As the best female fighter on the planet, and with the courage and broad shoulders to carry the message of power and empowerment on behalf of all female athletes, Claressa will not rest until there is equality on every front in women’s combat sports. I am proud of her, and I encourage men and women everywhere to support this SUPERWOMEN pay-per-view fight event on Friday, March 5, so that women fighters can continue to ascend.”

“From the first time I met Marie-Eve Dicaire, I knew she was special,”
said her promoter, Yvon Michel. “Her charisma and social intelligence are only matched by her ambitions and uncompromising determination to always prepare well and get better as a boxer and a person every day. These are the same traits I noticed when I first met Roy Jones Jr. and got to know him in training camp. The fight against Claressa Shields and the event on March 5 is going to happen because Marie wanted it and insisted with conviction on doing whatever it takes to make it happen, despite all the constraints. March 5 will be a great day for IBF champion Marie-Eve Dicaire, you shouldn't miss it!”

The supporting bouts will highlight some of the best talent of today and a look at rising stars of the future and is expected to include outstanding undefeated 6-foot tall 198-lb heavyweight Danielle Perkins, powerful undefeated Floyd Mayweather Sr.-trained light heavyweight Nadia Meknouzi and super-talented current WBA interim super welterweight champion Raquel Miller – all in bouts to be announced over the next days and weeks.

As an amateur, Danielle Perkins was a 2019 Amateur Boxing World Champion. With a dream of becoming world professional heavyweight champion, Perkins registered an impressive victory in her August 20, 2020, pro debut when she knocked down and unanimously decisioned previously unbeaten Monika Harrison. Already a world-class athlete standing 6’0” tall and weighing 197 pounds, Perkins was a standout collegiate basketball player at St. John’s University where she led the team in rebounding and blocked shots including two trips to the NCAA Tournament, followed by a professional basketball career in Europe. After an automobile accident left her critically injured and temporarily paralyzed, Perkins underwent a rigorous rehabilitation program for five years. Upon her recovery, Perkins dedicated herself to boxing and quickly demonstrated great skill. She won the USA National Championships, and then as a member of Team USA, won the 2019 World Championships in Russia, becoming the first American man or woman to win a world championship since Claressa Shields won the gold medal at the world championships in 2016. Perkins trains under the tutelage of trainer James Cooper.

Originally from the country of Morocco, Nadia “The Lion” Meknouzi first rose to prominence around the globe in the martial arts, achieving multiple black belts and remaining undefeated for two years with 200 fights at 2 minutes each, bringing home 40 gold medals. In July 1998, she was honored by His Majesty the King of Jordan El Hussein, decreeing her, “Top Female Fighter.” Meknouzi moved to the USA in the year 2000 and gradually moved away from her combat-sport background. Meknouzi met Floyd Mayweather Sr. in November 2018, who ordered her to get back to training, regardless of her weight of 249 pounds. After just two months, she had her boxing pro debut in December 2018. Meknouzi is trained in boxing by Floyd “Joy” Mayweather Sr and Cromwell “Bullet” Gordon and also continues training in MMA and plans to go back to competition July 2021. Away from fighting, Meknouzi does stunt work in various projects and films.

Known for her exciting, aggressive style, Raquel “Pretty Beast” Miller (10-0, 4 KOs), from San Francisco, CA, won the interim WBA super welterweight title in her last fight against the previously unbeaten Alma Ibarra. She was a U.S. Olympic Alternate, as she lost a close split decision to Claressa Shields in the finals of the Olympic Trials, and she is determined to avenge that defeat in the professional ranks. Prior to winning her world title, Miller seized the NABF belt as well. She was also a 2012 National champion, a silver medalist at the Women’s World Championships and a gold medalist at the 2013 Colorado Springs Golden Gloves tournament.

Marie-Eve Dicaire Working on Speed, Tactics To Shock Claressa Shields

Marie-Eve Dicaire's patience will be rewarded when she returns to the ring on March 5 in Flint, Michigan, for her unification fight against Claressa Shields.

Dicaire is overjoyed at the contest finally taking place, after it was postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic and other issues outside of her control.

The contest, which is headlining a pay-per-view event, will be a full division unification with the WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA junior middleweight titles on the line.

This opportunity, Dicaire views it as the big reward for a lifetime of effort - and it also came with a lot of stress as she spent an entire year on a roller coaster linked to the multiple cancellations and postponements of the event.

"I think it was the media [coverage] that made me realize that this was going to happen for real this time. Because even when the contract was signed, even when [my promoter] Yvon [Michel] told me it would be announced - my team and I couldn't believe it anymore," Dicaire said to Radio Canada.

"I think I really learned to trust the process. I am an extremely impatient girl to wait for things to happen. But there comes a time when you have no choice but to trust the process. You have no choice but to go at the start of training camp when it's time. You have no choice but to take vacations when it's time.

"Above all, what I realized, and I know it from the start, is that I have an extraordinary team. They were all the more by my side and I felt all their support during the year. I really realized how lucky I was to have this."

The fight will take place in Shields' backyard, but it will also be held behind closed doors - which means there won't be any concern regarding a hostile crowd.

"It is certain that there will be no hostility factor. On the other hand, as a boxer, the crowd energizes us, makes us want to go further. In this case, it will be necessary to find motivations which are inside of myself. Once again, it's a great challenge. I don't see that as a problem," Dicaire said.

"For me, it is important, from fight to fight, to continue to improve. It's important to always offer a new version of myself, to work on my shortcomings, to improve my qualities. That's what we're betting on. That's what we want to offer, a new Marie-Eve, because it's a Marie-Eve who has to face Claressa Shields and not Ogleidis Suarez.

"In terms of preparation, what we did for this fight is very different from what we did in the past. Of course, the speed was increased a lot. In the past, we took it for granted that I was already faster than all my opponents. We didn't necessarily need to work [on speed in those situations]. In this case, we know that Claressa Shields is very fast. She has very fast hands.

"We also bet on a slightly different style of boxing because the previous opponents were opponents who were rushing, who charged on me. Claressa Shields does not have that reputation. Of course, we are ready for any eventuality, but we have adjusted a few things to be really ready for what we will have ahead of us on March 5th."

PPV Undercard Update

Two more exciting women’s bouts have been announced for the televised undercard of the “SUPERWOMEN: SHIELDS VS. DICAIRE” all-female boxing event on Friday, March 5 from the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Mich., and live on InDemand Pay-per-view and live streaming platform FITE.TV (9 pm ET/6 pm PT).

In support of the “historic” main event, a 10-round 154-pound unification showdown between undefeated three-division and current WBC/WBO Super Welterweight World champion Claressa Shields and also unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight World Champion Marie-Eve Dicaire, will be a potentially explosive co-main event, as undefeated former amateur standout Danielle Perkins (2-0, 1 KO) of Houston, Texas, will fight an eight-round rematch to the exciting non-stop slugfest she had with Waycross, Georgia’s Monika “Lay Em Down” Harrison (2-1, 1 KO) last August. This time, however, a prestigious belt will be on the line, as the two warriors will vie for the WBC Silver Heavyweight Championship.

In another outstanding match-up, undefeated fast-rising middleweight Logan “The Golden Girl” Holler (9-0-1, 3 KO) of Columbia, South Carolina, will look to continue her ascent up the 160-pound ranks against Newark, Delaware, veteran Schemelle Baldwin (3-1-2, 2 KO) over eight tough rounds.

Dedicated to this year’s International Women’s day (Monday, March 8, 2021) and presented by Salita Promotions in association with Groupe Yvon Michel, SUPERWOMEN: SHIELDS VS. DICAIRE on Friday, March 5, will be live streamed on FITE.TV and distributed by InDemand to the major cable, satellite and telco outlets for just $29.95. To pre-order the fights, click this link

Undefeated 6-foot tall 198-lb Danielle Perkins was already a world-class athlete before boxing, as she played collegiate basketball for St. John’s University, making two trips to the NCAA Tournament, followed by a professional basketball career in Europe. After an automobile accident left her temporarily paralyzed, Perkins underwent a rigorous rehabilitation program and then dedicated herself to boxing. The towering southpaw won the USA National Championships, and then as a member of Team USA, won the 2019 World Championships in Russia, becoming the first American man or woman to win a world championship since Claressa Shields in 2016. Perkins trains under the tutelage of James Cooper.

“I’m excited to be a part of such a historic all-female card on March 5,” said Perkins. “I admire what Claressa Shields has done as a trailblazer for women’s boxing and I want to bring the same thing to the heavyweight division.”

Once-beaten Monika Harrison started in combat sports as a kickboxer, 17 years ago. The intimidating slugger has had trouble finding opponents in both the amateur and professional ranks but seems to have found a heated rival in Perkins. The pair fought to an exciting four-round decision victory for Perkins last August, but Harrison had her moments and says she’s making the adjustments to even the score this time. A construction worker, originally from Georgia and residing in New Jersey, Harrison turned professional in 2018, and once fought highly touted undefeated prospect Lei’D Tapa to a four-round draw. Tapa never fought again.

A natural to the sport, Columbia, South Carolina, native Logan Holler started boxing as a way to stay in shape but quickly found she had a knack. A lifelong athlete from an athletic family, Holler’s father played football player for the Green Bay Packers and legendary coach Vince Lombardi. Holler was an equestrian before finding the ring. She earned a Division 1 scholarship to the University of South Carolina’s Equestrian team where she helped them win the SEC Championship. Holler says she had trouble finding amateur fights in South Carolina, so she turned professional in 2014 without ever having fought and has gone on to turn heads by going unbeaten since then. Holler is also a devout Christian. She is trained by former fighter Dominic Robinson-Neal.

“I am excited to be a part of such a great event featuring an all-female card making history on this PPV,” said Holler. “I am looking forward to putting on a strong performance and making a statement as I continue down the path toward a world title shot.”

Press Release | Limited Number of Tickets Go on Sale

A limited number of tickets are on sale now for the “SUPERWOMEN: SHIELDS VS. DICAIRE” women’s boxing event on Friday, March 5 from the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Mich.

Due to pandemic-related limits on capacity, an exclusive 194 tickets can be purchased to watch the all-female night of professional boxing, featuring a 10-round 154-pound unification showdown between undefeated three-division and current WBC/WBO Super Welterweight World champion Claressa Shields and also unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight World Champion Marie-Eve Dicaire.

Priced at $300, $225 and $150 (with facility fee included), the tickets can be purchased at the Dort Financial Center website www.dortfinancialcenter.com, at etix.com or in-person at the Dort Financial Center box office from 9:00-5:00 Monday - Friday.

In support of the “herstoric” main event, undefeated former amateur standout Danielle Perkins (2-0, 1 KO) of Houston, Texas, will fight an eight-round rematch to the exciting non-stop slugfest she had with Waycross, Georgia’s Monika “Lay Em Down” Harrison (2-1, 1 KO) last August.

Shields’ highest purse has been $350k so they probably need something like 30,000 PPV buys to match that (once they take into account marketing costs, other fighter fees, Fite tv’s cut of the revenue).

She’s probably thinking it’ll do 100,000+ buys though!
